Thank you very much I will have a look at it :)
I am very motivated now, getting rid of my debt will completely change my circumstances and put me in a much better position to save and move out of home.

So shamefully this weekend was not a no spend one, in fact I stupidly let myself go shopping and spent £70 which I should have paid off of my Barclaycard. This is the first slip up, and probably not the last however I need to realise that the only person I am cheating really is myself, because it will take longer to clear my debt now.

I have officially withdrawn my work place savings, its a little less than I thought because it has only been in 9 months so I have £450 due to return to my bank account which is without a doubt going to Barclaycard.

I have agreed to work my day off tomorrow for some extra money, which I am thinking will almost cover the £70 I spent this weekend which to be fair was holiday clothes for my holiday this month. I have saved myself almost £300 on not smoking so I am still a lot better off even with my slip up this weekend.

Lesson learnt anyway, and I need to keep myself updating on her to remind myself of all the positives I am achieving. And this is now 45 days without smoking :)

    :)

  • Just had a quick read of this, personally I think that quitting the smoking is as impressive as anything else. Some people spend years trying to do it, and for you it's not even been the main challenged. Well done.

Thank you! :) the quitting smoking came hand in hand for me, there was no way I could clear this debt and have a life while spending nearly 200 a month on smoking!

I'm surprised I have managed to do it, but it shows that I'm stronger than I thought I was :)

It makes me confident if I can do that I can do anything I put my mind too, and clearing my debt is the thing I'm focusing on now!

    Thanks for your support! X

  • Afternoon Diary :)

Today has so far been and will end up being a NSD!! I was supposed to have today off, but I was offered a chance to work and be paid which really does not happen a lot in my job so I grabbed the chance!
If I had taken the day off, I probably would have ended up spending some money doing something with my day.

I am starting to miss the gym, since I cancelled my membership. So I am planning to motivate myself and go for a run a few times I week, its more for fitness now I am no longer smoking, and to completely change my unhealthy smoking lifestyle to the complete opposite.
I do not want the expensive of joining a gym again, as I now have £35 a month extra towards my debt. May not seem much a month but over a year thats a lot towards my Barclays CC.

(One thing I am really keen to know is a lot of people on here have their debt free dates on their Signatures..... How do you find out your debt free date??? )

  • Today had been a NSD :) I worked a whole day yesterday extra so that's an extra 7 hours pay :)

I have put my old ugg boots on eBay, as I was bought a new pair for my birthday back in march so my old ones have been sat in my room doing nothing! :) already have a £10 bid on them and there is still 6 days to go on them! :)

I get paid a week today, which means I can clear some more off my Barclays credit card :) can't wait! Thinking I should have a good month next month as I'm on holiday for 2 weeks and already have the spending money for that so won't be using much of my monthly money. Hopefully lots of overpayments.

I'm going to put some aside for Christmas as I don't want to put anything on credit this year like I have other years

  • Hello Diary!

I would class today as another NSD. I had to buy my foreign currency but the money was already put aside for that, and also had to tax my car... again I had money aside for that. In terms of spending on myself or things I wanted its been a NSD.

I have allocated myself £20 for this weekend, its the last weekend before payday and I have ended up not borrowing anything this month .... everything is on the up!! :)

Still only one bid so far on my ugg boots on ebay, but still 4 days too go :D

Its been a little while again since I have updated my diary, I have been away on holiday for a week and had a nice break from everything including the stress of debt.

However, I am back now and ready to carry on tackling it. I have worked out to clear all of my credit card debt my Barclaycard, and my Natwest credit card in two years I will need to pay £230 off per month. This is more than achievable for me.
In two years both of my loans will be paid off also which will leave me completely debt free. I cannot cut the term of my loans as easily as I can the credit cards so my aim is to set myself the challenge of how quickly I can get them paid.... earlier than 2 years.

Once my credit cards have gone, I can use the £230 per month and extra from credit card payments to overpay my loans and get them down quicker.

I had a nice little tax rebate when I arrived home from holiday, at the moment that is in my savings because with Christmas Coming up I do not want to be putting any of it on credit card and setting myself further back, plus if anything were to happen to my car which I need for work I would have to pay for repairs or a new car on credit.
I know its not advisable to have savings when you have debt, but I suppose I am trying to prevent the possibility of having to add any further debt.

All in all feeling pretty relieved that at worst I will have my debt for two years more just paying the £230, but me being me I like a challenge and If I could have these credit cards gone by December 2014 that will be a massive achievement for me!
