Thank you :) yes stopping smoking is the hardest thing I've had to do but it ties in well with my debt busting as its giving me more spare money to pay it off with!

I have loads of things I could eBay, I really need to have a sort through my things and get it on there! Loads of old hair curlers, crimpers etc and clothes I never use anymore! :)

That's on the top of my to do list for this week!

Thought I would pop in and update to keep myself motivated.

I followed Caterpillarx's advice and stuck a few old bits on ebay over the weekend, and to my complete and utter suprise what I considered to be an old rubbish IPOD fetched £35 I cant believe it. So I have posted that off today and the money is already in my account. :) Think I have the bug now so need to spend some time finding other things to put on there!

I managed to only spend £10.00 this weekend, this is a record for me!!! And I paid a lovely £130 off of my Barclays CC. If my month goes to plan I will hopefully be able to pay another £100 off of it.

I had some change left over from the weekend, and also a £2 coin so kept them to put into my jars!

Finally I think im getting the hang of it, have been on the Cashback websites this week and signed up for a lovefilm trial which I have done before thats a nice £12.00 free money :) Just need to remember to stop the trial before I pay for it! :)

Im aiming for 4 NSD's this week, and tomorrow is my day off so im going to have to avoid all temptation to go anywhere near shops

Well done Laura, that's brilliant progress and I find money saving can actually become quite fun and addictive. I doubt it'll ever be as much fun as spending it but we can only hope :rotfl:

I completely agree spending it is much more fun!
I'm struggling with motivation, I paid for a nail course in full a few months back as I wanted to learn to do them and do it in the evenings to earn extra money, so far I haven't done any of it. Its home learn so can do it at my own pace but that makes it worse!

Surprising how low it can make you feel having no motivation, Think I need to have a strong word with myself haha!

Agreed motivation is always an issue :(

Things that seem to work (for me at least) are reading the diaries on here and a few free apps I got for my @pple phone. Days Until is a basic countdown app where you can set yourself a goal date. I worked out what my monthly payments needed to be to pay off my card before the 0% rate ended and set up a monthly DD to pay it off just in time. I started with 400+ days and am now at 255 :j

I also use another free app Debt Payoff Assistant which lets you input numerous debts and monthly payments, overpayments etc. It also has a useful snowball calculator so when one debt ends it will automatically show you what the effect would be of combining that debts monthly payments to your next debt etc. That truly was a lightbulb  moment for me, as I saw that if I overpaid what I am paying monthly to my Credit Card to my mortgage, it would be paid off in 6 years time rather than 19:eek:

If you don't have the same type of phone I'm sure there will be loads of similar free apps for other types and I find a quick check each day on my progress helps keep me focused. if all else fails a glass of wine doesn't hurt either

Thank you! I have the I phone so I'm going to get looking straight away! I will find some motivation! Maybe just one lazy evening is all I need to kick myself about how little I have achieved this evening! :)

I always enjoy one to many wines especially at the weekend, and everything seems to go out the window then haha! :)

Thanks for your support. I will get straight onto them apps now! X

Had an odd £17.66 in my bank account which wasn't needed for my bills so have now paid that off the Barclays CC! £140 paid off it so far this month :)

Think I will hopefully have another £100 to pay off of it throughout the month :) I'm going to carry on budgeting first and make sure that money is spare before I pay anymore off.

Getting a little obsessed now with paying towards the Barclays credit card, and putting Change in my sealed pot haha!

Thanks for the info about the apps - I'm going to have a look at those myself.

You're doing so well laura! I really struggle with motivation myself - I am studying alongside working at the moment and it is so hard to get myself motivated to do the work. It makes me feel low too. I need to sit down and make a plan of how to tackle the work, I usually find that helpful.
