Thanks for the info about the apps - I'm going to have a look at those myself.
You're doing so well laura! I really struggle with motivation myself - I am studying alongside working at the moment and it is so hard to get myself motivated to do the work. It makes me feel low too. I need to sit down and make a plan of how to tackle the work, I usually find that helpful.
Thank you for taking the time to read and write on my diary, all the support helps a lot and keeps me going!
I'm having the exact same problem, I work full time and I'm trying to do this course too which I really want to do... The problem is I'm always knackered once I've been to work and been to the gym! I need to get a better plan in place, to try to find at least an hour on my course, once it's done it's done

You can do it
I always struggle with keeping 'the big picture' in sight but having a goal, like moving into your own place, is a great incentive.

Hi lauraG! Just noticed you have done a nail course. Last year I did a hair extensions course, and did nothing with it for soo long. If you dont do something soon you will loose your confidence and forget things. I think what prevented me was confidence, and getting off my butt to ask people to volunteer.
Finally one evening, I messaged all my friends and put an add on Gumtree requesting models. I got a good response and that week and got stuck in and haven't stopped since! Even though I was soo nervous when people came round I put on a front and just did it. Now I fly through them, and have paying customers at least twice a week!! Honestly, I think you should set yourself some goals, have so many nails done by the end of the month etc and you will fly through it and be earning cash in no time.
Im doing a Gelicure course next month so will be doing the same! xx0 -

I think it is confidence
mixed with a little bit of being too lazy to get the course done! Because its home learn I'm not rushed to get it done but I should be!
I was looking into hair extension courses too because I had some done a long time ago and thought it would be another thing I would like to be able to do. Who did you use for your course and was it expensive? XTotal debt to pay: £14,071.41/ Remaining debt: £12,884.12: Amount Paid: £1,187.29

I used Connect 2 hair - but wouldn't recommend them. I'm planning on further training and after a lot of research I'm going to go with Studio 58. Its not overly expensive, but as I'm in Northern Ireland I always have to fly to the mainland so therefore it works out way more expensiveness for me!
It takes a LONG time to gain confidence in this, and lots and lots of research. Its hard to get volunteers also as the hair alone is around the £100 mark (that's for budget hair, good quality can cost up to £300), so obviously models need to be willing to pay this. Then you will get people who do not follow aftercare and so come running back blaming you, so you need to be very thick skinned and assertive! Its probably worth doing a short hairdressing course first, just to learn the basic of how hair works, how its damaged and contraindications as its very easy to damage someones hair with extensions so you need to make sure you know what your doing. Maybe even a cutting course too so you are confident in cutting the extensions once they are in. Sorry I'm rambling! xx0 -
Thank you! Maybe it's something for me to think about in the next few years may going to complete the acrylics course first and then the gel and nail art. I thought about doing a one day spray tan course too just to widen the scope of things I can offer to people!
I work full time in an office so I think I'm just dying to have a bit more of a say in the hours I do, plus I really like the idea of being self employed .... Depending on the amount of money I can bring in, so thinking of different ideas to do!

I'm currently in a similar position (office work) but leaving next month to start in a salon. That's why I started doing these things also, so I could do them part time, and eventually be self employed. That's years off yet but I'm gradually getting there and adding on other services.
Good idea concentrating on the nails first though, you can be jack or all trades but expert in none. Once you have mastered all aspects of that and have a good clientele up with that then add something else in!
Good luck with it all, will keep checking on your progress of you debt busting AND nail course! x0 -
That's the plan

Well if you find anything that brings in the money let me know
I'm off into town today as its my day off, hoping it can still be a NSD
