So I thought I would drop in for an update!

Today wasn't a NSD, and I managed to buy a new pair of leggings and 2 vest tops .... £14. My thinking here though is I take them on holiday!

What I have decided though is I am going to cancel my gym membership, It is costing me £35 per month and its not even as though I need to lose any weight its just I wanted to improve my fitness after stopping smoking and tone. I am going to start running instead, my plan is to go in the morning when I wake up and then come back and get ready for work.... its free and is improving my fitness so win win situation and I am then £35 better off a month = that's £420 extra a year off that Barclays CC!

All these little monthly costs soon add up! :)
I have added £5 into my change pot today though, as I was given a £2 coin which I like to keep anyway and then decided to through the pound coins in aswell :)

If its not in my purse I am less likely to want to touch it!
That's about all for today, think I might go and give my running route a quick try and then get on with my nail course.

    :)

    Just dropping in to update!

Didn't manage a NSD yesterday as went swimming, and won't be today either as I'm going out for dinner (a cheap dinner) with my friend! However I'm still well within budget for this month and I'm only using money I had put aside for my monthly social life!

I paid another £10 off the Barclays credit card today which will bring me down to £5590 now outstanding hoping I will be able to pay another £100 to it this month but I'm going to wait till just before payday before I commit myself to it incase something comes up!

:) not going to badly this month, and I'm confident i can continue to shift this debt until its gone, very very determined this time! :)

Hi Laura, you're doing great. Spending on swimming is totally allowed in my opinion as sport is good for you. Also dinner or drinks every so often and a social budget is really sensible. If we never spend a penny we'll just become depressed and more likely to give up on our DFW goal

I agree :) as much as I want this debt gone I'm not prepared to sacrifice my social life, would be so depressing stuck at home and never going anywhere!

I think I have a happy medium now, which keeps me focused on everything!

Really lacking energy since I've quit smoking but the stop smoking clinic said that's normal and it will pass. I hope so because after working all day I get home absolutely shattered at the moment! Nearly done a month now without smoking, and I have noticed such a change in money!

:) excited for next payday now so I can pay even more off! :) x

I didn't realise its been 3 days since I last dropped in!
Best I update quickly before I fall off the debt free waggon! I did not manage a NS weekend infact quite the opposite :(

But for that I know need to be really good and focus! Im working this saturday as extra and being paid for it, which will help in September's payday as I have done a couple of extra days this month :)

I have been paying Little bits off of my Barclaycard CC and also putting all change and £2 coins in my change pot so will total that all up tomorrow so I can update my Signature. I am feeling deflated so need to start remembering why I am doing this!

I did have two more items end on Ebay this weekend which picked up about £20 in the end, not bad as they have been in my bedroom for months doing absolutely nothing. Need to find some more bits to put on there now :D its quite exciting seeing the bids and money go up haha!

I think what you are doing is brilliant. I got my first credit card on my 18th birthday and never got out of debt until I was in my 40s. I wish I'd known better when I was in my 20s.

Thats exactly what I did, but I got everything I could store cards, loans, and any credit card possible and bought anything I wanted no questions asked. How silly of me! I then consolidated it all and racked them all back up again.

This time Im wiser, Im 24 so I'm aiming to pay it off so I can move out of home again, but this time for good.... financially stable!
Unfortunately im the trouble daughter who always came running back for help..... I dont want to be that person anymore.

Im just about to update my signature so will be nice to see my progress :rotfl:

Thought I should drop in and update as it has been a little while, I didnt realise I had left it so long.

I didn't manage a no spend weekend last weekend, and have had some small bits to buy like make-up etc this month. Haven't got as much money left as I had hoped but I am still budgeting and hoping I will have a little left over to pay some more to my Barclays Credit card.

Get Paid again in two weeks, so not too long to go until I can pay some more money off of my debt. Need to find some more things to put on Ebay as I have nothing on there at the moment.

Still not smoking, It has been 39 days since my last one! Feeling good, but have taken myself off of my Champix tablets as I was feeling constantly tired and run down on them. I seem to be just fine without them now!

Today will be a NSD, and hoping the rest of this week will be too so I can keep some money aside for the weekend :)

So today I have decided that I am going to cash in my staff saving plan, every month money is paid into it free of tax and saved. I have £600 in there so far as have only been saving for just over a year, but I have decided to cash it in and pay it off of the Barclaycard debt.

I was reading that you should clear debt with any savings you have. I also realised my Barclaycard debt is finishing its 0% in January, and I am finding it difficult at the moment to find a company who will move it onto another 0%. So getting it down by another £600 from this savings and any other payments I make before January may make it easier for me to shuffle my credit cards around to 0% again.

It will be nice to see the card down from £5000's to £4000's. :T
    Seems a bit more manageable.
