    Payday today!

The money situation is not actually as bad as I thought, which is a relief and I should be able to overpay by £100 this month ... that is much better than nothing which is what I originally thought.
That is providing I stick to the budget I have drawn up today!

Woke up this morning and my wisdom tooth wasn't hurting anymore which saved more dentist cost. :D

All my xmas presents are sorted, so should be able to stick well within if not under my budget which will leave even more money to overpay my Barclays credit card.

I have checked today and the balance remaining on just the Barclays cc is £2106.99, this is the one I need to get rid of ASAP due to the interest starting in January on it, all the rest has been balance transferred to 0% cards. Looking forward to see how this month goes and if I can get that down.

Going to change my signature to keep a better track of my situation.

So Christmas is over, just New years eve costs to contend with. Luckily me and the OH have decided to have a nice quiet one this year, and go for a meal then to the local pub. A lot cheaper than going into town and having to deal with the costs of: Taxis, Entrance tickets, and drinks.

For Christmas I was bought 2 x Money Jars (I think my family have realised how obsessed I am with saving every penny at the moment, literally). One I am using for my odd change like 1ps etc, and the other I am using for just £2 coins only. I am not going to touch either of them until December 2014 or they are full (Which ever comes first) and then pay it all straight to whichever credit card I am clearing at the time.

Here is how my debts stand at the moment, I did a spread sheet tonight to help me know where I am.

    Credit card debt:
    Barclaycard: £2106.99 (0% until Feb 2014)
    Natwest: £2800 (0% until Jan 2015)
    Halifax: £1459.91 (0% until Nov 2016)
    Tesco: £1471.60 (0% until Nov 2016)

    Other debts, Loans:

Car finance: £3000 left, final payment June 2015
Loan nationwide: £5000, 3 years left

Writing it all down is pretty scary, I can't believe I let myself get into this mess, not sure how realistic it is to get it paid off in 2 years.... but I am going to give it my very best shot starting from now!!!!

I have set up a virtual sealed pot, to transfer the odd pennies and pounds to round it up from my bank account every friday into a savings account, and as soon as it reaches £100 I am going to make a faster payment straight to my credit card.

    Wish me some luck :D

So I have been adding all of my change into my jar and also keeping all of the £2 coins I get given and so far have £21 saved! Pretty good going just in small change I would usually not have thought much off. In December I'm going to open both and pay them straight to my debts!

I have a few things ending on eBay in a couple of days which already have bids on so that's more money towards my credit card too!

Feeling really positive towards everything at the moment, can't wait to cut eat credit card up one by one once they are cleared!

I'm subscribing. Good luck with your diary.

I'm in a similar situation. As you can see in my sig I have a similar amount of debt. I'm 26 with nothing to show for it. My 18th birthday present to myself was a credit card.

Exactly the same as me, I went a little too far.... credit card, store card, and loan for my 18th birthday and then it went down hill from there. Never ever again.

I also cant think of one thing I still own that I bought on credit!

Good luck with your debt busting :D I cant wait for the day all of this is gone, so I actually see some of my wages! x

Just a quick update to my debt free diary!!
Sold £25 worth of stuff on eBay :) it's going straight to my credit card, plus every time my bank balance has odd pence in it I'm also transferring that across to the credit card too.... May seem weird but it has worked for me in the last to get rid of a card!

Back on the giving up smoking properly now, I've noticed such a change in the money situation, all spare change in my purse I'm putting into my change jar which I will pay to credit card when full, there is already £16.88 in there! Amazing that I used to have the I couldn't care less attitude towards small change! It adds up so fast!
Also have £10 in my 2 pound coin jar :)

Think it's time to look for more unwanted clothes and shoes to put on eBay!

    Hello Diary!

Its the day before payday, and for once I am left with funds... £50 to be exact. This is unknown for me, im usually skint 2 weeks before payday, and Im sure its the non - smoking. This is day 9 for me now without one... and I have no desire to have one what so ever!

I am knuckling down and hitting the Barclaycard with everything I have at the moment. I paid £30 extra to it today, plus loads of odd pounds and pence throughout the month so far to keep chipping away.

Im saving all my spare change, have £31 so far.... changing this up into notes and paying it into my ISA.... in December if I havent needed any of it for car repairs or unforseen expenditure that will be going to whichever card I am on at the time :D

Instead of going out tonight, im going to stick loads of ebay and bag up some clothes to take to cash4clothes (ones that havent sold on ebay)
