I have expired loads of them but although I have worked by end-date and as they are added I really don't understand why the old competitions are a bother.

They make no difference when working from the front of the board.

If I enter by end-date and was working 2 days ahead doing 10/08 I would already be ignoring the still live 08 and 09/08 so what does it matter if 4,5,6 and 7 are still there (they are not mixed in with other dates)? It only takes a few seconds to move on to the next page or 10 pages which is less time than it takes to expire one competition.

If they aren't a problem why are they moved to GO at all?

Would it just be a problem once you had more than one years worth of comps on the board?

Personally I switch between Glad & Dalkirst.No offence meant to the other two but I have found this to be the most productive way of doing it.

Exactly. if people used the board in a more efficient way then they wouldnt have anything to moan about.
i come via 'newest thread'. i NEVER see comps that have expired thus leaving them to be expired by BGs whenever they feel like doing it.

to be frank this all boils down to people being too unintelligent to read a date and think 'oh that date has passed, it must've expired, i'll move onto the next one'.

At the moment it's just Glad or Dalkrist but as he is not very well really we are down to just PMing Glad for all the thread merges needed. That's why she is getting 40 a day

I'm not sure how many Bg's would make the site run smoothly again, but I do know we need at least one person who is around a lot during the day, which is when most merge requests need doing.

I would like to see two more tbh but weather it would work with one more active in the day time BG would be enough I don't know

No offence but I have not spotted a post from Dalkirst asking that we do not pm him re dupes etc.Maybe I missed it?

In the absence of this I have carried on as per usual sending messages to Glad & Dalkirst.

If the merge takes a few days so be it.In the meantime if the OP has taken "ownership" hopefully a spot of editing has taken place & it is clear that it is a dupe.

No not that aswell as my crohn's i have hyperthyroidsm and need surgery but still waiting for an appoitment for that but that's killing me at the moment sooo tired all the time


So to be frank I do not think Darren needs to be receiving lots of merge requests at the moment do you?

No worries.As I said he has not specifically asked that we did not pm him re merges so in the absence of such a statement I see it as business as usual.
If he needs help or requires a rest from his BG duties I would expect him to contact MSE admin rather than rely on us reading between the lines,as it were.
