nell - don't worry about it. Chemo brain or not, it's hard to keep track of who said what with all the people on here. I'm sure no one minds a little mix up x
dinglefoot - Well done on the wedding ring find. I think, with something like that, if you can afford it, it's always best to get something you like when you find it. Perfect rings don't come along very often.
This morning i woke up to a text from my sister asking for my account details and now i am £400 upshe paid me everything she owes me
That's going to go towards next months savings. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it on here but i signed up for a savings account. You have to pay in between £20 and £250 a month by DD and it pays 3.25% interest. After tax i think this is slightly under what i get from my ISA but i signed up for the £250 so I'm forced to save that much and can't decide to take a savings break like i did last month. After 12 months it goes to just a normal savings account so at that point I'll close it and put it in my ISA.
I had to pay for 2 new tyres yesterday but paid on my card so nothing to potbut at least i am now road legal

OMG where has the last week gone?Sorry for being AWOL(again!) lots of work going on with the scooter. The paint job looks amazing just having wiring trouble with the lights! It's getting to be like the Severn Bridge, you just get to the end and something else happens & you have to start all over. Can't wait to take pictures to the FDNY museum when we go in January (sorry girls but Skeggy's off!) but the up side is my DW might get a ride in a fire engine while were there

Sparky, if you're having trouble you could always pop your coinage into my pot. There's plenty of room so it won't be an issue..... I'm kind like that you see. Always out to help those in needSealed Pot Challenge member #071 VSP #4

Thrifty Fashionista, you sound so very determined to get free from debt and with that much determination you'll get there. One day at a time and remember - you're never alone!
An excellent welcome aboard, Nell, here's a shiny gold star for you. :staradmin BTW, all the best for your OU course, sounds as though you're really doing well. Sorry to hear about how the chemo's dragging you down, but if it and the radiotherapy give you your life back, what more can I say!!
Sorry, jakes-mum, but you've only just had one - brilliant welcome though.Your DH could well have a point about another session, after all, the better you can get will be good for you all. A hug for him with his flu, don't forget to give him lots of TLC. Fantastic news about the 2 night break in Northumberland and great of you to give it to your Mum & Dad. I hope she soon feels much better (you sure it's not that time in a woman's life she's suffering from?)
Helen, that really is marvellous saving, very well done indeed!miele wrote:Sue, I'm happy to save up til this years deadline. Only 2 months but I love a challenge!
That's good to hear, miele, all the best to you for all you can get. The more you can budget the more you'll be able to save.
Do you really go fishing as in angling, Modesty? I used to love it as a youngster. These days I go fishing in DH's pockets instead, angling of a different kind! :rotfl:
Wonderful news about the wedding ring, dinglefoot!!! :j I was thrilled to read you'd finally bought it as several years ago I saw a gorgeous aquamarine (my star sign) ring and fell in love with it, but at £100 + it was a bit pricey back then so I said "No" even though DH wanted to buy it and I still regret not going with what he thought and I've never seen anything like it since.C'est la vie.
Lovely to see you again, honey. Excellent saving!!!! Thanks a lot for popping it on your siggy. Have a lovely time. Happy Anniversary!
I'm so chuffed your Sis has paid you back, Ruth, what a lovely surprise! :j
A shame about the electrics, sparky, but at least you still have it to look forward to. So, you're reneging on the Skeggy trip then, oh dear the terrible twins won't be happy. :rotfl::rotfl:
Anyone seen Co-!p's latest idea? 20p a BANANA regardless of size!!!!! Our DIL is manager of the local branch and even she doesn't think it'll work.Have a lovely day, everyone, and stay true to your pots. :j
Sue xAnyone wishing to join, please just ask, you're more than welcome, it's NEVER too late. Thank you so much for the warm welcome everyone!
Thank you for my number Sue, I kept checking the member list excitedly awaiting to see my name!!
I have put £8 into my pot today, a mixture of silver and £1 coins that was weighing my purse down. I have also listed 11 things to sell, all starting at 99p so hopefully by next week I will have some extra money, and any change I get from the post office I'm going to pot.
I also tried a top on again I bought last week, and realised it was a splurge I cannot afford - so I'll take that back next week. Won't go in my pot, but it all helps clear that debt.
Thanks again everyone. Its been a tough year this naughty 2013, but now I've found you all I'm feeling better already.

Oops - I have had to raid my pot
I had a text from my bank with pre-interest/charges advice. I've been around £150 overdrawn in it for a long time and have paid bits off but then the interest has come out too so I've never really got anywhere with it. Hubby doesn't know I'm overdrawn and I've manage to keep it from him. Anyway they're now starting to charge £6 per month plus interest. I was £109 overdrawn so raided my pot and put it with £20 my mum gave me for cleaning for her. Got £70 altogether and have paid it off my overdraft. Going to try and pay £10 every couple of weeks (it's difficult sneaking the odd £10 out of our joint account) till it's paid off.
Will start again though, it just seemed daft to have the money in the pot and be paying £6 a month on money I oweSealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0 -

I think you did the right thing. Could you just come clean with your hubby and ask permission to withdraw the rest of the money needed to pay off the overdraft? It sounds like you only need £39 to do it with. Then you can start potting with a clear conscience up to November?I also tried a top on again I bought last week, and realised it was a splurge I
cannot afford - so I'll take that back next week. Won't go in my pot, but it all
helps clear that debt.
That's the spirit fashionista! I tried on a jumper in Sainsb*urys the other day, put it in my trolley then put it back. Am I desperate for another top? NO! It's much more productive to clear that debt. Well done!:TSealed Pot Challenge #012

Hi everyone,
It's a very long time since I've checked in to this thread, but the pot is still on the go! I emptied it in June to help with funds for our July wedding, and banked £120 from the pot, which went towards thank you gifts for everyone! I left all the odd amounts that wouldn't quite make up full bags, and they have been added to over the last couple of months.
I will be sure to open the pot on November 28th and count up and report what is in there, but I think our savings will now be going towards our New York trip in January for my 30th birthday rather than Christmas, as this is being budgeted from our bank account.
Happy potting everyone, and I will try to check in more from now on!!MFW 2016 #32 £1574.66/£1500:j:j0 -
