Habibiboo, you won't forget your pot has to be SEALED now will you??! If you're cash is at risk of being too easily 'got at' then try having a "holding pot". This was brought in as sadly, a lot of members were finding they were potting cash so fast without thinking they might need some for things. It then upset them as they then needed to break into their pots for things they'd forgotten to keep change out for.

So, if you have change perhaps on a Monday, it makes far more sense to put it into a 'holding pot' just in case you need it i.e. For the youngsters, parking or anything else - then later in the week - put what's left into your Sealed Pot so you know it can stay in there and, with luck, won't be touched any more.

It's a way of safeguarding your money. So, you pop it in there for X amount of days or until the end of the week/month and THEN put it away in your SPC and possibly get ready to the same with the next lot you get.

Don't forget to put the 'holding pot/purse' in a very safe place!

Oh sparky, you just have to have a gold star for that perfect welcome. I'd never thought of thee and me having them, but as I've been given 2 then you should at least have 1. Yer tis, polish it well. :staradmin

Hi Everyone.....

Oooooh nearly counting up day!! I've already banked most of mine but have added some in my Pot to get ready to Bank at the end of the Week....

I've added £6.46 today....that might well be the last amount that I'm potting....I might just pot my last fiver on Thursday and then that will be it for this Year....

I'm definitely going for the sealed aspect - I think my purse is generally a "holding pot" anyway, so I do need to just stash some cash and forget about it. BTW, well done on the knitting and crocheting achievements! I love both, but don't get a lot of time at the mo.

Hi larlie & deldee, welcome to the thread, enjoy saving and posting here
If you have a look at post 1 on page 1 you'll see how we work, and when Sue comes back on she'll give you a number that's yours for life to put in your siggy to make life easier for sparky on counting-up day. With over 2000 of us that must be a pretty big spreadsheet he's got!
