    Hi Sue

Thanks for the welcome, after reading post 1 I was scrolling through the names and realise I am still on there from years ago so I can stick with that number 351. Will add it to my siggy now.

    I haven't posted in a while but I do lurke! :o

This years grand total was £169... back in August as I was saving the money for my wedding, the new tin has been started and won't be counted up till the end of next year so I will up date my signature :D

Can't even believe I am asking this question but won't be totting up till Friday night for various reasons, is it OK if I add my total then?

Really excited to find out my total, joining ranks with my friend over a glass of wine on Friday, who has been potting although more haphazardly this year. We are both determined for next year

  • I may as well declare £8.44 I don't think I'd fond anything tomorrow... If the coppers are still on the kitchen side I will ask if I can pop then in my tin. I don't get paid until the 28th...

  • Oh,I am just excited to be starting now,
I think I have decided on the answer to the "Do-I-count as-I-go-along-or-leave-it-as-a-surprise?" dilemma?
I think what I will do is leave it as a lovely surprise for next year, but, every now and again, count up what I put in,(say for a week or fortnight.)That way I won't be worrying that there is "nothing" in my pot:I will at least know there is something in there!!
Yes,yes,I know:most people would just pick up the tin to know if there was anything in it :rotfl:
Am really looking forward to starting this challenge:I have already got afew coins lying around, but am waiting until the start of the challenge proper to actually pot.
    Really excited ,now :j

    50p potted today :o
Pay Day tomorrow so I will be sorting out envelopes and withdrawing the cash and putting different budgets in different envelopes. Does anyone else find this works? Or do they think its best to keep it all in bank account and withdraw it or use the card as needed? can't decide the best way to budget?

Hi Beth, firstly, why the embarrassed face when having potted 50p? It's a good amount for a day, more than I had! Be proud of all you save. :) What works best with budgeting is a difficult one, though I'm sure a lot depends on how much you have to pay back.

A good while ago it was common practice to put money to be paid out into separate envelopes, I know it worked well too. Now, it's a whole different way of living and sadly debt is common practice, but if that method works with you, keep it up. If it's more convenient to pay via the bank then get DDs up together. However, where people have very little on their CCs and especially if they can pay it off each month then, that's the way to go. I see you're due to be DF next December - brilliant! So, until then work out which is the cheaper way for you. For any other help feel free to PM me, glad to help where possible. :)

Congratulations on your savings, mumof3plusoh!!!! :T To be honest, with the way you've spoken recently I didn't think you were going to do at all well, so very well done indeed. Though, as in reports "You could do better!" ;) Come on here more for the encouragement.

Hi Mel and great news on your savings. Congratulations!!! :T All the best with 2014.

Maisie, thanks so very much indeed for that information, blowed if I'd noticed, though I suppose perhaps I wouldn't have done, easy when it's your name popping up. :) Thanks for putting your No on your siggy.

Hello lozzy, about time you returned! :DThe £169 you saved can still be declared after all you did save it, but just spent it early. Congratulations to you!!! :T No problem at all and good luck with 2014.

ChristmasCarol that's perfectly ok, there will be a lot who are far later than that. Best wishes to you and your friend for next year.

Very well done indeed, LeopardPrintsAndTea!!! :T I know things haven't been easy, but maybe next year will be a lot better for you, I truly do hope so. :D Why not put the other change in your pot for next year?

Well done, Saver-upper, I honestly think of security is what you want/need that that's the best way. Also, you might be able to step it up a bit if you think it necessary.
WOW...it's almost here Sealed Potters!yay.gif Just ONE day left!! Time for the last push!

Please, EVERYONE, check that you have your Nos on your siggies! Many thanks.

  • I will do sue. and thanks,I know it's been a tough year really - first year of having a job....and buying most things for myself. I did have more to pot but I potted it a few months ago and I've taken out money since then. Hope 2014 will be better.
I'm going to use the £8.44 to put towards Christmas present buying ontop of what I have in my bank. Only 6 more people to get for and then I am done. Mums helping me out this year :) any cash left over will be potted In my spc7 bank. This year it's not getting touched until its full.

  • So I realised that I had more than I thought I did....That's me that can't sort out my Finances properly :o So I've added another £30 into the Pot tonight....:j

I am holding onto my Fiver until Thursday....and I DO have to buy a couple of things so I think there might be another few pounds....but that really WILL be it for this Year....

Still, I think I've done rather well.... :D

Thank You again to EVERYONE for all of your encouragement and for putting up with me putting in and taking out earlier on in the Year....It's all been worth it to have a Christmas WITHOUT putting it on the Cards or the Overdraft xXx

7p road kill found on the way to work this morning. Picked up and safely in my pouch ready for the pot when I get home. I'm going to take the total off my sig and surprise myself when I open it next year. Can't wait, bring on the pennies!
