Regarding the noises made by the child, what do you expect the authorities to do, put the child in a soundproofed box?? The child is disabled, consider that the parents may have a tough time coping themselves.

It's school holidays at the moment, most probably in September the child will be in school during the week. Obviously if the tenants continue with the abusive language, this is more of a cause for concern, but you can't expect someone to move/ be moved because they have a disabled child!

Agree with others, the poor child can't help it. The noises are obviously just a symptom or the disability. We have an elderly couple next door, the man has dementia and often shouts and makes terrible groaning noises but we know he cannot help it, really doesn't bother us at all, feel really sorry for him :(

I'd say in your situation its very unlikely anything can be done

Why should I move when I have been settled here for so long.
If you heard the noises, perhaps you would have more sympathy.
Who wants to be woken up in the middle of the night?

    The child cannot help it!
What exactly do you expect them to do?

I'm sure the parents don't want to be woken up either. But what can they do? gag him? move to a deserted island? I understand it must be very unsettling and annoying but it sounds like these noises cannot be helped.

I would probably have sympathy for the parents, it must be incredibly hard for them. I would either learn to deal or if I couldn't, I'd move.

They haven't done anything that warrants them being called neighbors from hell, it's not their's or their child's fault that he or she make such noises.

My sister has a severely disabled adult son who makes very loud noises like an animal in agony.

He can't speak and will always be in nappies.

Do you not consider that the parents of such a disabled child would change places with you in a second?

Hearing noises from a child next door would be paradise compared to the hell they have to live with 24/7. Don't be so selfish.
  • Twice you have described a disabled child as sounding like an animal.

Please, if you do approach the neighbours, don't use that kind of description.

You may make things a whole lot worse, and if it were my child you were describing, exit the property with a foot up your ignorant backside :)
Its all mind over matter. I don't mind and you don't matter:rotfl:

OP you are coming across as a very nasty person with what you have written, I am sure the poor child is unable to stop making these noises, I know from experience we have a neighbour in our street who's daughter was the same, unfortunatly the girl passed away a few years ago, but I never heard anyone in our street make such comments about her.

Perhaps the neighbours friend should not have sworn at you but to have a word with someone about keeping the noise down on their second evening in a new house with a disabled child would get most peoples back up.

I really can't believe just how intolerant some people can be of others.

Get some ear plugs. Job done.

I feel sorry for the poor family, would hate a neighbour to be so ignorant, especially in this situation.

I agree with the other posters. The child cannot help it so there is nothing you can do to prevent the noise.

I can only suggest you get ear plugs for sleeping, go out more during the day so you are not just sitting at home all day listening to it and save up to move if you are really uncomfortable.
