Best Sim Only Deals (MEGATHREAD)

Talk mobile (which piggybacks off Vodafone network) have a quite good SIM only 12 month deal at the moment, offer ends 17th April 2016.
Minutes allowance: 3000
Text allowance: 5000
Data allowance: 4GB
All for £10 a month which I think is pretty good value.0 -
I looked at the talk mobile website and they don't mention 4g, just 2 and 3g checker on Vodafone. I don't see a phone contact just chat, which got disconnected soon. Main it's my WiFi signal but that doesn't bode well for getting through to them....
Good deal £10 with 4gb data if it's 4g.0 -

I moved over to life's £6 a month deal. Amazing value but before I joined I emailed and asked if 4G was on the way and whilst I don't mind not having it for a while I do mind not having it at all.
I got a reply saying yes it was being rolled out right now and should be with all customers in the next 2-3 months.
Turns out that was utter crap. It's not on the way at all.
So I'm on the look out for a deal around £10 with 600 mins. Unlimited text and 1gb data. Preferably a 1 month rolling contract.
Must have 4G and not be ID mobile (sorry far far too many horror stories!).
If anyone has seen any please point me in the direction.Sigless0 -

Well well well. I did take up Life Mobile's £6 SIM and asked the question about 4g. They said it was being offered currently to existing customers and were I to proceed, then it would be offered to me soon. However I've only been with them three weeks.
BUT. The 1500 minutes are fine, the unlimited texts are fine, (don't need that amount, but fancied 1GB of data so if I wanted to use the net when out, I could, especially as my family have just moved to Cyprus for three years.Thought it might be usefull to Message them if I chose.
The phone I had when ordering the sim was a sony xperia but within days of using the sim, changed the phone to a lenovo a816 (secondhand) and the sim wouldn't work. Life told me I needed to have an email from them to change things and received a "data settings walk through" procedure which I did after a fashion.
However, the speed I am getting when using the data is very slow. Five minutes to load yahoo mail. I called Life today and they said there is nothing they can do about it. I'm connected and that's that.
So, together we are looking for something similar. I don't want to spend £10, but we have the same objective. It has to be said, the sim is fine on home wifi or any of the outlets in town. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. The deal is fantastic value but it has annoyed me a little being mislead. I emailed before joining and specifically asked if 4G was on the horizon. I got a reply saying it was rolling out and would be with all customers in 2-3 months.
I'd seen a few people say that Life had told them different so o emailed again. Including a screen shot of the reply I got saying 4G was on the way.
I got a reply yesterday saying it's on the way but not for sim only customers (I didn't even know they had anything but sim only customers). That it will be with sim only customers but they've no idea when!
Now I have no problem not having 4G for the 2-3 months I was told I would be without it whilst they rolled it out. But I don't want to be in a position of having zero idea when or if they may roll 4G out.
On the plus side customer service has been great, fast answering the phone, always helpful and any issues sorted within 24 hours.Sigless0 -
I have today received a letter from three giving me reason to leave them
It basically informs me that they are virtually doubling my tariff in 30 days, unless I cancel with them
I have had an All You Can Eat 4g £11.90 tarrif for 3 years and they want to charge me £23 for it (with a £3 discount) - the letter implies that it is all being done for the best !!
So - I see that iD offer a 4Gb /500 minute/5000 txt package for only £10 per month - which uses three network - is there any reason to doubt whether my connection will be any worse on iD than three ?0 -

You might want to read and then post in the thread that's about the Three removal of old price plans, more info and advice as that thread is more relevant and up to date about the issue.

I've been a three customer for about 8 years. Absolutely happy with them all this time. I too got the letter saying my contract was going up from £15 to £21.
When they were offering the one plan at such a low price, hey did so to generate market share, no doubt giving away a lot of profit in the process. Now they are competing against others with a strong 4g network. That is very expensive to roll out. Plus the amount of data people are using on 'all you can eat' tariffs has probably gone up 10x over the last 2-3 years.
£21 is still cheaper than the competition for the same service. It's still a good deal, especially when you consider they give you extras like feel at home for when you're abroad.
Yes it's annoying that prices are going up, but they aren't doing anything unreasonable. Nobody is being forced to take the new tarriffs. Three are just keeping up with the competition.0 -

Also - just how much does, say 1Gb data actually cost the providers ?
pennys I bet - because the cost of data transfer has dropped over the years
