Thanks for the recommendation for Tello. I'd been looking for a data sim on pay as you go. Some months I have no useage so I didn't want to top up every month only not to use it.

I'd previously looked at The Three 3-2-1 offer but it only works with phones, not tablets or dongles. The Tello website wasn't clear on this, but when I queried this with Tello they called me up (from Atlanta!) and confirmed that their sim can be used for data-only use on tablets etc. For 1p per megabyte it's great for low use.

For higher use I'd probably go for Three's prepay sim which has 6GB for £30 to be used over 12 months. That works out as £2.50 a month for 500MB. Bargain!

I have a data sim with MobiData who have been great. 1GB a month for just under a fiver. And they give 100MB a month roaming data included free! However, it's a rolling 30 day contract and if I don't use it I lose it.

How has your experience been? Just waiting for my sim with a massive £2 credit on it (also nice to be able to top up small amounts).

if your due for a renewal, and your happy to stay on the same sim only plan with talktalk, let the agent know, but dont tell the agent your happy to pay the same price, instead ask the agent to do something about the price. currently, talktalk are offering 50% reduction on all prices at the moment, so depending on what reduction the plan was on from last year, you may actually pay less this year.

I've just switched to life with their 1500 mins and 1gb data for £6.

I got less with tesco and was paying £10 so almost halved my bill.


3G only but speeds of 15mb. I was used to sub 2mb speeds.

And so did I switch to Life 24 hrs ago with same tarif as you. I was with EE and got 250 mins, 250 text 100 mb for £8
