Not really, sounds like the seller did what most do, big up the good points.

Someone posted on here the other day about his Renault and a light that kept coming on. He hung up when the buyer phoned up to complain.

    Is he a fraudster too?

Were not talking about a scratch or two here. Not is it a purple jumper described as burgendy for example. From what ops put (and unfortunately that's all we have to go on) the vehicle was completely misrepresented!!

I do not really accept that I've been stupid either.

You really should have read the whole terms and conditions before purchasing and if you had done that you would have seen the motoring catergory is excluded from paypal protection. (to be honest I didn't know this until this post). However how many people DO read the whole terms and conditions when purchasing online - I know I don't. But you do need to acknowledge to yourself that if you had read them you wouldn't be in this situation.

I am not blaming you I stated before I think ebay should make this clearer but you are still responsible for not having read the terms.

why don't you post your query on the ebay section?

    Probably because eBay say this:

    Exclusions from eBay Buyer Protection

The eBay Buyer Protection policy doesn't cover services and certain categories of goods; false, abusive or illegitimate cases; errors made by third party tools such as translation or currency conversion tools; or purchases where you have been or may be compensated by another third party. The following purchases are excluded:
    Intangible goods
    Classified Ad listings
    Access to digital content
Items listed or that should be listed (under our listing policy) in these categories:
    Websites & Businesses for sale
    Specialty Services
    Vehicles (including, without limitation, motor vehicles, motorcycles, caravans, aircraft and boats, tractors and ride-on lawnmowers);
    Residential Property (Real Estate)

Is there a legal requirement to advertise it as a stolen recovered?

Dave sorry about DUTR who is clearly one of the smart alexs we have to put up with on here. Ignore him he is just winding you up. We are not all like that here. So Ebay and Paypal both, don't cover any kind of motorised vehicle sale? Interesting as Ebay at least seems to be trying to get more business from high value items and push out the smaller ones. Does Paypal's small print say the same thing, motorised vehicles exempt?

You don't have to apologise for me, and I'm not being a smart alec, let me ask you, would you purchase a 2nd hand vehicle based solely upon the sellers description and without pre viewing the item 1st?
Would you encourage any of your friends family or colleagues to do so?
In the past on ebay I have put a car up for sale, people were coming with offers, but I didn't accept them unless they viewed the vehicle 1st.

Answer the question then, is it something you would do or encourage somebody to do? I'm sure the answer would be no.

No-one in there right mind would think it's the way to buy a vehicle.

    No I wouldn't.

But also there is no need to barrage the OP with abuse over and over again.
