No I wouldn't.
But also there is no need to barrage the OP with abuse over and over again.
To me there is no abuse or not without response to the abuse coming my way, at least it's something we agree on this weekend
Personally I don't think the seller is all in the wrong here.
And I am not ruling out sensationalisation from the buyer, however irrespective of what any of us readers think of the situation, it will have little bearing on the outcome, there are always two sides to a story, and to be fair we have only heard one account of it.0 -

Brain?
Sorry, just getting in on the action.
Listen, you've paid £550 for what at some point was quite a flashy scooter - okay, it may need £50 spending on it to sort it out, were you expecting a brand new one??
It's really not a biggie, if the money was a huge risk to you, you shouldn't have bought unseen.
Most Uni types are a bit thick by the way, in my experience anyway, don't take it personal. And that my son, is how to waft a towel!0 -
So at this point, if Ebay and the Rozzers aren't interested, your options are fairly limited.
In your position, first of all I'd take it to a bike shop or an auto electrician and determine the extent of the problem. If it runs ok with the wiring fixed then you've still got a good scooter with some cosmetic damage.
You can then either put it down to experience or pursue the seller.
I assume you've got his name and address from ebay. So write to him threatening legal action and if he doesn't cough up you may have to take a chance on the county court.
Either way you're going to have to invest some more money in this problem. If not you have no scooter and no money.
As for the trolls, this site has a very useful ignore function which I'd suggest you use rather than getting into slanging matches with people who have nothing better to do.0 -

As all you have done is echo what many other posters have already mentioned, other than for the OP to use the immature button, sorry the ignore button, only problem with that is it is not 100%, as say I was ignored by one poster, they would still see my posts if another poster had included it in their reply.0 -

Thanks for pointing that out. So I've just mentioned it all again. Now I'm off to do something interesting with my evening. Carry on pedants and trolls. Bye0 -

I tell you what puzzles me as you mention pedants and trolls, is why there is no negative feedback for the scooter transaction?0 -

Click on the username and it gives a list of options, the bottom one is add to ignore list :j0 -
Answer the question then, is it something you would do or encourage somebody to do? I'm sure the answer would be no.
The answer is a clear no. however, the OP realised they had done that. They didn't come on here asking for sarcastic hindsight, they asked how they could resolve the situation.
It was several posts (Chris) before anyone actually tried to help the OP rather than pointing out something they already knew.
The idea of the forums is to dish out advice not abuse is all. Too much of the latter around lately. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0
