Threaten? Are you serious?
yes - why not ?IF you don't like the job and the pay go find another
i like the job - thats why i've asked for a pay rise rather than in the first instance look for a new jobbut yeah do tell them you are looking and they will make your life a misery no doubt.
in what way ?0 -
or could you inform your employer that you think their pay policy is demonstrating a lack of interest in retaining your sevices
Yes. You can inform your employee of this and/or anything else you'd like to tell them. If they're not available for you to inform them verbally then you can put it in writing0 -
they have said there have been no pay rises for 5 yearsWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

You asked for a pay rise and they say no and you say you have not got one in 5 years. Most people before now would have been looking for another job to see what they can get offered elsewhere
Make your life a misery by doing lots of things. They are your employer and if you go around throwing threats prepare for them maybe making you do extra work, unpaid overtime, overlook you for any promotion or pay rise to come anything they like really.
What do you think others do when they get no pay rise or get asked like a friend of mine 'if you want to keep your job we want to know what % you will give us back'We’ve had to remove your signature. So by you telling them you are going to do this and that will make them give you a pay rise? Are you sure about that?
i think they will keep the same policy until enough people start kicking up a fuss about itYou asked for a pay rise and they say no and you say you have not got one in 5 years. Most people before now would have been looking for another job to see what they can get offered elsewhere

i think they could find them selves in front of an industrial tribunalWhat do you think others do when they get no pay rise or get asked like a friend of mine 'if you want to keep your job we want to know what % you will give us back'
im not bothered what they do0 -
Isn't this what unions were invented for? Find out which is the appropriate one and get as many work mates as possible to join and get support kicking up a group fuss. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

you could get sacked for recruiting for a union in works time, do it outside of work time and you'll be fine, but then again your work doesn't have to recognise or even work with the union.
OP making threats to your employer will end in two ways they give in and give you a pay rise or they'll say if you don't like it leave.0 -
or they'll say if you don't like it leave.
but one wouldn't have to take up that offer i assume0
