And as has already been said by many others and keeps getting ignored by yourself,
What if the collar fails and operates unintentionally thereby giving your dog a constant shock?
You keep harping back to the unused features of TV's and mobile phones, but never acknowledge that these devices don't have an inbuilt function designed for giving electrical shocks, and if they were to fail, the chances of them causing problems is very remote.
TV's, PC's and laptops are all fused and earthed and will have been tested and approved for sale in the UK. Even though your collar has a CE mark, I would be astounded if it was genuine.0 -
Well if you were never going to use the shock feature anyway, why buy one that even has that function?Aug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00

I don't agree with the use of shock collars. I also don't agree with keyboard warriors that decide to derail a thread from its original purpose. If you want to preach about animal cruelty, why not take yourself off to a forum where your sanctimonious diatribes are more appropriate.
Yes, I realise the irony of posting an off-topic statement.
OP, I'd give it a rest for now and stop feeding the forum trolls. Just open a SNAD against the item and take it from there.0 -

why buy a smartphone with GTalk on if you wont be using it. Its the same thing IT A BUILT IN FEATURE,.
no need harping on that it wont give a shock, the principle is the same as its a built in feature, saying you have to use it.
now all TROLLS go troll someone else, but i suggest you learn to read first.0 -

The CE approval is probably about as genuine as the BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Porsche, Land rover etc accessories they have for sale.0 -

...but someone with your obvious experience of forums would know that threads generally do develop into wider discussions.
Whether objecting to a torture device is trolling or not is somewhat debatable.
And also, since we're doing repetition, opening a dispute has already been recommended.0 -
I cant belive that anyone would actually buy something like this, let alone a dodgy chinese one. You state that we all buy things with other functions on that we dont use and you seem to be using that fact to justify your buying your potentialy cruel and dangerous product, but there others functions that are available on phones, tv's etc dont have the potential to harm, if they did then people just wouldnt buy them.
Why have you bought a product that shocks if you dont intend to use said function? You could have bought one that does the rest but doesnt have the shock element to it, you could read up for free online about proper training techniques, saved up to buy a more expensive product but that importantly was safe with no electric shock element (spray of water, noise etc) and from a reputatble UK company, you have many options open to you but you went for one that will shock as you clearly wanted to use that feature on your poor dog.0 -

the same principle that many things come with features that are never used.
I have stated many time the shock feature WOULD NEVER BE USED, but it seems this forum are full of IDIOTS that CANNOT READ.0 -
I am not sure anyone is learning anything new from this thread. Op, why don't you just do as suggested re the snad.
All this bickering and snide comments does no one any good.0 -
If you weren't going to use the shock part anyway I don't see the issue?
If your dog barks at other dogs walking past when he's at your house there is no need for this sort of "training" collar, mine do that its normal.
I have no idea why this sort of "pain" training is used, the only time one of my dogs has bitten anyone is when he got foot stuck in a bridge, because funny enough it hurt him. Can only see it having a negative effect on a dog.
If you really aren't happy then open a SNAD, getting your money back and buy a proper one.The Fields are Green, The sky is blue, the River Nene goes winding through, The market square is Cobblestoned, It shakes the old dears to their bones, A finer town you'll never see, A finer town they'll never be, Big city lights don't bother me, Northampton Town I'm proud to be!0
