Bank transfer should be safe, but if the buyer is really horrible they could cause you a lot of hassle. It's not likely but just thought you might be interested in reading that.0 -

That's an interesting read. So basically she would have to report me to the police or take me to court to get her money back.0 -

Yeah. Highly doubt she would get anywhere, but obviously it would be a lot of stress and hassle for you.
Plus she could set up a direct debit in your name. You would be covered and have your money returned though.
The buyer isn't likely to do them things, but it doesn't hurt to know all the facts about what can happen with different payments.
Every payment option has some risk. Up to you whether you prefer bank transfer or cash in hand on collection, or simply to sell to someone else.0 -

I am 99.9% sure bank transfer is safe.
I have never ever heard of a scammer wanting to pay by bank transfer!
Karen, tell her that bank transfer is absolutely fine, and once the money has cleared in your account, you will send the phone, or she can collect it.
I would even accept cash on collection if you have a way of checking notes are not fake.
You could even spend £20 on a note checking machine with next day delivery!
This person doesn't sound like a scammer.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

tbh the whole thing is starting to wreck my head lol I need a stiff drink :rotfl:
I'm used to selling small items of no real value like clothes for 99p so never had much bother until now.0 -

The fact that you are still thinking that drawing money out somehow protects you worries me- I don't think you are grasping what actually happens with various types of payment.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. tbh i'm getting totally confused with it all. I wasn't meaning i would be protected just meant least if the cash is in my hands then i know it's paid for and i could post the phone.0 -
The buyer has now cancelled the transaction and i gave her a full refund through PayPal. I'm just waiting for her to do the bank transfer now.0
