Matt2389 - Can't make up my mind whether I want to save for a deposit or save to go travelling...Save £12K in 2013 £4000/90000 -
Matt I will add both for you but go travelling first. I had the same thought as you until I decided that when I get a house or settle to the rigour of saving for one I don't want to be dreaming about leaving the country. Travel first then house...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. I've been a bit over spendy in July and so won't be able to make my August mortgage overpayment so I need to claw back enough in August to keep me on track for September.
Goal for August: To meet mortgage overpayment obligations.0 -
Hi all
Working my way through the rules at the minute but the budget for August is set -
Money August
Groceries: £0/£150
Misc: £16/£150
Diesel - £0/£180
SFD -0/20
Notebook for any spends is now dusted off and ready to go and I'm now reading "A girl called Jack" blog for recipes. Today is going to be a spend day as I'm counting all my nephews classes for the month as one (£16) . I am out to lunch for a leaving do but I can claim it back. I'm also going to pop to Mr Ts to get odds for lunch and the weekend. I have the £10 in my pink pig purse (pressies from nephew) for my treats and will see if we have a food bank near me. I need to investigate what beauty products I have and use them up.
Ok that's me ready to go:D

So day one.... And it will not be a sfd. Thursday is food shopping day, so will buy what i need today. Tomorrow will be a treat day with dd, I have T3sco day out vouchers for entry, will make sure i buy plenty for packed lunch whilst food shopping today, then I'll have my £5 for ice cream or a small treat from the shop for dd! Plus my mother is coming so she can drive as her car is bigger= no fuel!!
Happy August peepsStill here..... but working on that!0 -
Morning
Woohoo the new challenge is up and running!! :j
Ok, so I've found a notebook (found one at the back of the cupboard so didn't need to buy one) and set the food budget.
My Mum and best friend know about my debt already.
I've set £200 as spends, I know this is really high BUT I need to buy school uniform and shoesfor the kids for Sept. My Mum is coming down from Yorkshire today
to spend a few days with us. We will be going out on Monday but I will use this day to sort the children's school stuff out (so its within a planned day's spend). Children are then off to hubby's parents for a few days later so we've planned to go to the cinema on Tuesday (as its nearly half price then). We also plan to take children out for a day or two. We will pack picnics and try to do things as cheaply as possible but I don't want to underestimate and then go over my budget.
I've set a beauty budget but don't think there's anything I need so hopefully I won't use it.
Good luck everyone ~ keep smiling and think positive!!
