:hello::hello::hello:Hello Everybody!:hello::hello::hello:Look at all the little wavey men taking it in turns to wave at you. Quick - wave back!!!
So I am in a good mood today. For no reason whatsoever. It's just good to be alive. The sun is shining and I have yet to have my spicey beany, avocado burrito and that makes me smile - I will savor it.
MoneyMash I know EXACTLY how you feel. I don't get called for the shifts though I have to bid for them and hope for the best. I have calculate I would like an extra 40 hours a month which bascially breaks down to a mere 5 shifts a month... It means going back to the place I left in order to do the job I am in at the minute (which doesn't offer OT).. it's torture cause the place isn't exactly run properly, breaks are timed to the last second and it's high pressure... but you do what you have to do. We are both determined. My thought's when I get in there is that I am making my life better, it's a means to an end and I won't have to rely on it for the rest of my life... despire how soul destroying it is...
I have brought bags of change into banks on a few occasions - they only have issues if you are not one of their specific customers. Otherwise I love using them for this purpose...:p
Abundant glad you are scheming meals... my chilli beans came out really well. I have a massive portion for today to have as a burrito with salad and another portion left over - so three large main meal portions from one cup of beans and a tin of toms. Suits me fine. Shame about the excess use of chilli flakes...... so crackers are on my list to make, a cake for LLL tomorrow and more chilli beans.... living on a prayer.. seriously I am close to broke....:rotfl:..what are you making???
Andrar I laughed when I imagined Dorothy in a towelling headlock.. great idea though...
So I met a friend for a chat yesterday... it was not an SFD as I bought a card for LLL... but my friend bought food. We chatted about our goals for the next five years. Mine is to obviously get debt free..... get three months wages tucked away - £5400, get a £500 motorbike mishap buffer thrown on top, a £1000 I-want-a-holiday-now fund and start putting 10% of my wages away per month for long term investment - £180 over 15 years without compund interest is a simple £32400. Now then, those of you who are 45 years of age as I will be at this point - what would you do with £32k...?
So those are my goals... but I also want to live a little...however I'd rather work hard now and relax later if that makes sense..
So I am down to my last pennies - that juicing diet made me crave junk food even more and I blew money on chocolate recently - something I feel disgusted by as I am "trying" to be a fully fledged vegan and milk chocolate is not acceptable.. and that my good diet regime was destroyed by this juice fast - probably didn't help that I got so sick duyring it...
So remaing I have £9 tesco vouchers.
£2.01 price Promice ticket
and £3.79 hard cash
with £13.90 in my bank account.
Total = £28.70. More than enough to get me to payday on the 30th, although I would prefer not to spend my tesco vouchers. I will if I have too... this is me stretched now to the limit..
So that's me for the day - another SFD by the end of the day hopefully....
Onwards and Upwards Chickadees.... we are nearly through this...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Hey all.
Your beans sound nice Kat - I made a tomato and chickpea - bulgar wheat concoction which will do me at least 3 meals... planning to eat with some cottage cheese on top. Also made some of that tzatziki although used regular yoghurt instead of greek. Also - the garlic + oil didn't blend so well in my mixer lol and ended up mashing it. Still - tastes ok, and will use as a dip for my oat cakes, and rather sad looking carrots and remaining peppers, or as topping for the chickpea thing. I have frozen runner beans and broad beans too as a side.
Looking through the cupboards, I have 3 tins of beans/pulses and 2 bags of bulgar wheat, (also tomato puree, stock and spices) so actually can reproduce it again 3 times if I can stomach it lol!!!
Night in tonight - so claiming today as SFD number 15.

Quick update from me, back in work tonight.
Well I went to my surgery this morning as it's round the corner from where I work. I found out my prescription isn't actually a repeat. However, the receptionist said I could order it there and then ( instead of making me order it online) she also said that I could cancel the repeat prescription service with her (instead of doing it with the chemist) what excellent customer service, simplicity in itself. So now I can get my over the counter price, instead of paying the full prescription price, that will be a saving of £3.71 each month, a small quick win.
So I worked out my work's rota and annual leave on my spreadsheet this morning and have identified 7 extra shifts that I can do, so just leaves me 1 short of my target. I will see my colleague who does the rota tomorrow morning and give her a list of the dates. I am sure I can pick up an extra shift/hours I need based on people phoning in sick/training or meetings.Debt-Free day 30th September 20140 -
Just a quick check in - NSD day on Monday - Making a grand total of 4!!! not great but at least its some! Today should be better - lovely home made soup on the go for lunch and either home made fish pie or pork and bean casserole for tea - more decorating for me after I have gone to see carpet guy again!!!!0

Hello,
got another few NSD taking me up to 12. Today I need to pop to LIDL though (got a £5 of 30 voucher) as OH will be away most of the weekend. Other wise not much to report. Had lamb tagine from the freezer yesterday and I made some stuffed flat breads from the cupboards. Tonight is chinese noodle stir fry using those boringpork chops.

Quick update from me - not been spending much this week as been at the gym at lunchtimes then straight home but did pick up some veg and popcorn this morning for today. Also invested in some new gym gear but that was using Amazon vouchers so free to me.
Payday not due until next week but colleague says hers is pending - hoping it's early because of the bank holiday! My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

Yesterday was a SFD and hopefully today will be too. Need to pop into town at lunchtime to pick up tickets for holiday but with 93p in my purse, I doubt I'll be tempted to spend.
Looked at my finances last night. I have £95 to feed and entertain us until 12th Sept (which is when we go on holiday) as I've used some of my budget to buy holiday bits rather than dipping into the holiday fund. Completely possible though the cats may have to go back to cheaper cat food for a few weeks, which I'm sure they won't mind. They do like the "posher" biscuits I've bought but I caught Harley trying to break into the remains of the Whiskas senior box last night:rotfl:0 -
Ha ha I love the bit about the cat breaking into the whiskas box! I've just bought and plastic cereal container for my cat food - I buy biggish bags from of dry cat food and if I should not feed my cat on time then she breaks into the bag using tooth and claw and I end up with a months worth of cat food all over the utility room!0

Afternoon all, well a sfd here today too I think - sorry for absence - just been working and refereeing - the joys of having two children at home. The school holiday honeymoon period is over!!
Abundant I am seriously impressed with your clear out the cupboard marathon!! Aiming to do similar here. We go on our proper official no work to be taken with us family hol next friday. We are going to France for a week- the kids are seriously excited - DH and I are a little scared as neither of us has driven on the continent before  Its the first proper holiday we have ever done as a family other than 4 nights in static caravans through a national newspaper. We are staying in Gite. Anyway this is all new territory!!! Coupled with the fact DH gets sea sick I dont and the kids as yet are unknown!! Oh and DD 6 year old school girl French may well be better than mine which is 18 years old and wasnt that great back then. DH did german - so thats no help :rotfl:
Anyway work to do - Love LAGL xxDebt free on the 28/05/130 -
Had a NSD yesterday which is the first for a while, was aiming for another today but when you've had 2 hours of spoken crap all morning for a bloody soft bap, easiest to get them plus other rubbish that's not needed.
There goes 2 consecutive NSD's not my fault but there we go, as with the rules it's an expense none the less.
If it were my choice I'd only need to fill up with food once a week and fuel twice a week, families hey lol.
Not easy to earn these NSD but when they do come, a huge sense of relief2013 Goals - Credit Card - Repaid in full on 06/08/2013 - £1,313.92 / Mortgage 1 - Repaid £865.96/£3,500.00 / Mortgage 2 - Repaid £1,132.74/£3,650.00 / Loan 1 - Repaid £571.30/£1,983.64 / Loan 2 - Repaid £318.97/£3,026.01
