    Hi All,

    HAPPY FRIDAY!!

    Just a quick check-in. SFD yesterday :j

Spend day today. I have bought my £3.21's worth of food for the local Foodbank. I went over because I just *had to put custard creams in there* I trawled Mr T's value range- as I have tried all of it! So picked items I knew would be good! These included:

    1 x pkt pasta- 39p
1 x baked beans- 32p (couldn't put in the value one's, they are ming so bought the Tesco own brand!).
    1 x Tin of chopped tomatoes- 31p
    1 x tin of spaghetti- 15p
1 x tin of sardines- 50p (Tesco own brand)
    1 x tin of chopped carrots- 20p
    1 x tin of peaches- 39p
    1 x box of teabags- 27p
    1 x pkt of custard creams- 39p
1 x jar of strawberry jam
1 x box of boil in the bag rice (4 bags)- 0p (donated from me)

    Total: £3.21

I shall be dropping it off early next week at my local Mr Co, as they have collections there :)

Right, off shortly to the pub with the other half for food (will try to keep it as cheap as possible)- from planned spend.

Have a great weekend everyone! :T

Just found out where my local foodbank is, and told dh I'm going to call there friday with dd.

My nan who's 84 volunteers in her local foodbank every friday, but thats about an hour away from me so not very mse for my fuel allowance.

Dd (7) went with my nan once to volunteer, when she stayed with her, which i thought was a really good thing, as she thinks nothing of opening the next catalogue and asking for everything, and ipods and ipads (neither of which she has!!)
She enjoyed helping them put tins out etc :)
So thought i'd take her to lidl/t3sco for a couple of tins and we'd drop them off together.
Still here..... but working on that!

    Great idea LSD

Not a SFD I am afraid..I have spent zilch:A but OH is currently having a cheap night at the pub:o He has taken £10 which to be fair is a reduction on his usual amount..and it's only once a month so I think that counts as his treat. :p He self imposed the £10 which I was pleased about!

Made a lush beetroot cake today with lemon icing...and have had a glass of prosecco this eve with a friend ( her treat!).. The joy of small things!

Off on holidays this weekend..am planning to spend very little. Keep me on the straight and narrow folks!!:T

I just spent the last hour doing our family budget with DH. We've put in realistic figures and on the whole it's not too bad. We're going to keep spending under control, but have allowed for a bit of entertainment otherwise we'd go a bit mad!
I'm glad we did it together as I'm the one who usely tries to keep everything up to date, and I usually mess up somewhere!
    Trying to keep in budget.

Good move Gien to have a joint budget. I finally had the chat with my OH re our debt only a couple of months ago and it's made a huge difference now it's a joint problem/ challenge!

  • Ooooh ladies I love all this OH involvement! Even better that the littles like to muck in as well. Teach 'em young I say!

SFD for me.. been sat at home watching the rain, researching my longed for holibobs for when I am debt free and generally being and NSK slob being fed by NSKMum and being a lazy moo.

It will be an SFD tomorrow as well as we are braving the beach for a wee day out with one of my friends and food will be brought with us. Treats. NSKMum has made a carrot cake for tomorrow and we have already scoffed a home made sponge birthday cake with fresh cream and jam but seriously that beetroot cake has me intrigued Brizzle..?

Right.. after such a busy day I am off to bed...lol!

    Night night chickadees...

    Onwards and Upwards!!
