  • Having seen the contents, I can assure you that it's not the kind of thing you'd see on TV - even Channel 5....

Reported to ActionFraud via their web form

just done 'live chat' with Action Fraud and they weren't really interested and said only thing they would report is identity theft -names and addresses being used but I don't think its Identity theft though?
  • My boss received HER two DVDs this morning here at our office at work! Forwarded from an old work address - so the mailing list they are using must be pretty old.
Ironic after we did so much digging yesterday to find out where on earth they came from and ended up on here.
Thanks to those people who have added the info about how we can complain.

They may of course be getting round that because you can't actually watch the DVDs as sent and of course the images may not be considered to be obscene or extreme. They may just be very tame, not much different to some films and TV programmes these days.

It depends on one's definition of tame, I guess.

Still, it might get RM to sit up and listen.

I received 2 discs in the post yesterday and found this forum link via Google.

To say only Newbies are getting them is misleading. They are getting them and then finding these posts via google registering to post on the forum.

The involvement of the UB18 7NL address just seems to be as a mail sorting office / returns address. It's also seemingly used by other legitimate companies.

The source of the addresses could be anything. Pages from the phone book as some PPI callers I get seem to use, a purchased database or a hacked database.

Those that posted suggested eBay sellers that could be involved should perhaps edit those possibly libellous posts to remove the names.

I have a feeling there may have been some people sleeping in the spare room or sofa because of this!

They would have been rated 18 not R18 if that were the case, the R stands for 'restricted' as in you can only buy them from a sex shop, not via mail.

    Meanwhile back on topic....

People have asked how the perpetrators of this scam will make any money.

A couple of DVD's probably cost no more than £0.50 (if that) to produce and the same to 'buy' the list and post.

Doesn't take many 'fools' to activate their DVD's or phone the helpline to make some money.

Let's hope that the appropriate authorities come down hard on them (no pun intended).

Blimey, how did so many "newbies" find this site & forum in a day???? just asking........

By searching google for "NL0002, Greenford, UB18 7NL" - try it and see what happens. Its the return address printed at the top of the envelope with the !!!!!! DVDs in that we all received. Pretty logical really. How did you end up on this forum if you didn't receive the offending junk mail? Just asking...

Recieved two discs here, in devon, no use to me...im gay! Was abit disturbing though just two !!!!!! films in an envelope with no flyer, ad, or anything.it could have lead to some difficult situations opening the letter in front of the wrong people.
