Well done BA, that's a great time and it sounds like a hard course! Hope you're not too achy tomorrow x

  • If you don't mind, I'll belatedly join up to this! Used to be a bit of a runner and have completed loads of 10ks, half-marathons and one marathon in my life. Unfortunately circumstances took over 2 years ago which meant I had no time to exercise (nor the inclination really due to a pretty rough time). My job at the moment starts at 5am and finishes at 8 pm Monday to Friday which doesn't leave much time for exercise. Hell, my only exercise at the moment is getting up from the sofa at 3 am to crawl through to bed for a more comfortable sleep!

On Monday 17th I start a new job which is 35 hours a week and within about 4 miles from home, so perfect to try and help me get fit. I'm happy to cycle, walk, run to get to and from work (and they're all costless too so will help the money saving too), but thought for some extra motivation I'd sign up here for a bit of positivity!

So, hello my lycra clad friends - hope to be running over the next few weeks as my 'new life' begins.
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

Many of us learn the meaning of this word the hard way. I remember entering a 10 mile race on the North Downs and learned very quickly. I assumed (wrongly) that if the description did not say 'hilly' it would be ok.

I was 10 years younger at the time so I coped - it was also my first race at this distance and it felt like a half marathon.

    Well done blackangel!

  • Welcome BB! Hope you enjoy getting back into the running.

I've done nothing exercise-wise since Thursday so I AM going for a run after work tonight....
