Evening All!
(Becky saunters in glass of wine in hand)...
Sorry about the back Rich, well done on the running Sally, Milly and Ukevas and thanks for the report Alias.
I also didnt get any sleep as I still have jet lagso went to be finally at 3am and was supposed to run at 5.30 so that didnt happen
I still got up at 7.30 though to go see my uncle in hospital...so am pretty tired and about to slink off to bed - met some friends for lunch, then went to a party - its been a full day for me.
So our heating/hot water is also broken so I'm going to run into work tomorrow even though its officially a rest day so I can shower there - I'll most likely have to run back as well since I wont be able to carry a coat
Im going to re-work my plan tomorrow and try to build in more of running to and from work so I dont have to do so many 5.30 starts - rich is it okay to be doing two sessions a day as long as one is an easy?? I'll look at a 6 mile route and 8 mile route, but the basic 4 should be good for intervals since its practically flat anyway, it will only be hills then that would be a problem - so they'll have to stay early thursdays I think...
Wow what a ramble0 -
Ukevas - View the hills as your friends, they get you fitter quicker!:D
Hypno - Good luck with the running club, it sounds like a good bunch of people. And I reckon the back has already fixed itself so no great concerns!:D
Millie - Well done on getting started again. I'd time the early runs though, no matter how slow, because then you have a record of your big improvements in the first few runs to look back on! It helps with the sense of achievement!
Alias - Nice to see that you're keeping the consistency going - it certainly sounds like you had some tough conditions to deal with today.
Kms - That must equate to about £3.50 per mile then - it would be cheaper to hire a chauffeur driven Bentley!:p
Its nice to see quite a few new posters in the last few days!:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Oh NO!!! I'm gutted. I've just gone online to enter my planned races and the Wilmslow Half Marathon (29th March) is FULL  . 4,500 places and they are all full. I'm going to console myself with an entry into the Coniston 14 instead, which is the day before so it still fits nicely into my plan. OH will run this as well if his calf ever gets any better.
Rich, I hope your back is soon better. I also hope that you handle being an injured runner better than my OH. I'm not helping things really though, by babbling on about mileage and races and trainers so I suppose it is understandable really
.
Becky, how many glasses have you quaffed? I've never seen you babbling on so much unless you are on a high after a run. Good to see you back hun, and still brimming with enthusiasm. Its fantastic!
Also great to see that the new year brings many new posters to the thread. I love hearing about your plans and your progress. Welcome aboard!Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Oooo Sorry about your race Chick but great to see you've found a new one
One glass actually about 3 hours ago...I think I'm still suffering with jet lag - three nights of three hours sleep catches up with you0 -
Chickadee - That shouldn't affect your plans too much. I know the Coniston 14 is tougher, but that will just give you more confidence!:D
And there's no such thing as a good injured runner. My biggest challenge is getting through the taper week before the marathon - it drives me up the wall, dying to go for a run but having to resist. Anyway I'm not injured so I should be fine going forwards!:D
Btw You could still do the Wilmslow half marathon. All you are paying for is to run through the finish, miss that bit out and you've still had your race and got your own time! Plenty people do it - the race organisers don't own the course!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Morning all and welcome to the new members! Don't forget, loads of walking and a little running to start off with. We all started off where you are now (roughly), so keep at it.
I've already disobeyed the coach and strayed from the plan. As I covered slightly more distance than planned I don't feel too bad though!

Joined your early morning club for my run this morning. No ice for once, so I couldn't let the opportunity pass!
Becky, would your secret plan have to do with running a 3:15 qualifying time to get an automatic entry into FLM in 2010? Or something like that?Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
Morning everyone! thanks for all your support, , I see many of you are doing various marathons or the FLM this year, I've been saying every year I'm going to do one and never train hard enough, I'd like to do the Snowdonia Marathon actually, I know its supposed to be a toughie but its so beautiful round there.
Well I ache a little this morning, just above my knees after my 3m shuffle yesterday (thank god I went along the river bank with only the cows to laugh at me!!) but I guess its to be expected.
Rich, yes I will time myself next time, I'll get my garmin charged up for tomorrow. I've dug out my old training diary I was writing in until last May so I'll start filling that in again.
Have a great day everyone xxAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00
