Nice to see you back Hobsch, but that sounds like a painful month you've had there!

Evening All,,
I was wondering where you had been Hobsch - sorry about your toes, glad to hear you're getting back into it - but dont push too hard - we want you back to your speedy self asap
What I was trying to say earlier Rich was I maybe a running veteran in 8 years but I wont be a veteran in normal life - unlike you lot who will be both0 -
Oh did a windy 4 miles back home from work - and managed to overtake a fit looking bloke - so I was happy since I trying to take it easy0
-
Well done on the two runs Becky, but stop embarrasing the men - you know we all have fragile egos!!!:p
And what do you mean 'veteran in real life'????  Cheeky youngster!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

HAHAHA you may be old but you're still going to embarrass me on Sunday with your amazing time, but one good thing - you're not beating my amazing number for the race0
-
First ever race - how's the excitement building?
You're going to be buzzing when you post on here on Sunday evening!:D
I bet that back in June you didn't expect to be confidently taking on the challenge of a 10 mile race and knowing you can do it!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

I know its quite sad that now all I care about is getting under 1:20, whereas in June I would have been ecstatic to run 10 miles whatever the time, but hey thats progress for you
I'm looking forward to lining up with other runners though, I hardly ever run with anyone else so I do find it a bit off putting, but I reckon my competitive streak will come out and I'll go a bit mad in he later stages...
What time are you targeting or is it a secret??0 -
You will get under 1-20 if you run it correctly. You have got the training behind you to do it. The biggest risk is getting into oxygen debt early on by being sucked into the race pace of others - but you can avoid that!:D
My target is a secret, of course!:p
10 miles in training so far have been:
1-40, 1-34, 1-28, 1-33, 1-22 and 1-18 during the 14-mile time trial.
When entering this race it was targetted to try to break 1-10, but that has now been revised to 1-08 and, if it does turn out to be a perfect course, 1-06.
So it will be interesting to see how it turns out for both of us!:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Thanks Ukevas!!! Where abouts in London will you be?? I might be able to recommend a nice run for you - I live in zone one - so lots of lovely running along Embankment
So if you do 1:06 Rich you'll be about 6:40 pace and I'll be doing my marathon pace hopefully - so you are way ahead of me at this stage because your marathon pace is just over 7 mins/mile isnt it??
Drat - grrrrrr0
