A long run for today, was dropped off again in town and the wind was strong. Did plan to put in an extra 1mile but the wind too the energy out of me. At the end i was struggling to push myself forward..

Not ran at all this weekend, or at least not yet. Couldn't be bothered yesterday plus a day of rest is always a good thing. Spent the day listening to music, reading a book or playing PC games.

Today well erm i went to bed a little after midnight but started watching some TV episodes i had on the laptop in bed so 6 episodes later it was 5am. Hence allthough i've been awake since 1ish i've only just gotten out of bed. It was nice and warm see ;)

May or may not go out for a run later on when its fully dark even if it is blowing a gale and peeing down at the moment. Dunno how far it'll be will decide when out there probably, need to eat and drink first anyway. So if i do go out it'll be 6-7 at the earliest.

As for hills erm i live in west cumbria right on the edge of the lake district so its kind of hard to avoid them. My usual 10 mile route has a long climb over the highest point around then a big drop down to the main road which i fun although slowly enough to turn at the bottom can be a little tricky.

I've just worked out that i sent £3000-3500 last year running roughly. This is on travel (usually car but did do two overseas race last year) accomadation, entries, food but not clothes/shoes including those i missed through injury as well as dinner/drinks with friends where relevant.

Thats a heck of a lot i'm sure you'd agree so i'm off for a nice relaxing soak in the bath.

Wow - loads of posts today - well done everyone who did a run today!

Rich, I hope the back is better soon.

    Chickadee - fabulous milage!!!

I haven't done any running today. Started off with NO sleep - the phone rang twice at 2am and once at 3.50am.......the ex boyfriend of my student lodger who kept getting confused between mobile and home numbers (he is in Norway so not familiar with UK phone numbers!)

Then, have just got home from taking DS to a ski training day........I am shattered. So no running for me tonight - just dinner and early bed!

I am hoping to go back to the running club I looked at, tomorrow evening.........so that will be useful.......will report back tomorrow xx

Good luck at the running club Hypno. Let us know what they were like. Hopefully they'll be like us on here, enjoying our running and enjoying seeing others get a buzz from it too.

I went and did one session with them back in November, then did the half marathon and a few of them were there, and cheering me on even though they had only seen me once, so that was nice.

Then they were at the 10k on New Years day, and one of them ran round with me to chivvy me along with my sub-60min attempt, so I think I can be sure they are a friendly bunch!

I meant to go last Monday, but work got in the way - they start running at 6.30, and if I am lucky I finish at 5.30, but then have to battle through rush hour traffic and get changed etc so it is a fine line, because they start promptly!

But the boss is away this week so I can get off on time.......they do a long (5-6 miles) run each week, or you can choose to do an "effort" session which is speed work.......I will see how my blisters are before I decide what I do tomorrow! OH has just seen my blisters and thinks I shouldn't run for a week........can't have that!

Oooh, I hope the blisters aren't too bad Hypno. Whilst they aren't a serious medical condition, they can cause so much pain and misery. I wish I had invented Compeed!
