Congrats to BA & Seaxwyn, you've both got off to a great start!
A good point that BA raised there - just aim for 3 or 4 times a week rather than committing yourself to doing it every day, pushing too hard too soon could cause you to give up so build it up gradually0 -

Hi there, that's an amazing time well done. Have to admit I am cacking it about the North Run, all the time I was doing the Manchester Run I kept thinking "I will NEVER run be able to run this distance twice". How do I keep increasing the distance without feeling sick and tired?0 -
Hi southwester, good to see you here. congrats on the half by the way read about it in your diary that was a great time!! have you got a next running goal or are you still recovering?
Oh to shift some pounds..... ;-)debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -

Wow, i love that gmap thing. I just managed to work out that the route I run is 1.3 miles. I only need to do it four times and it will be my race for life run. Gulp! Just realised the enormity of my task. BA, I am impressed at you running over 4 miles in 39 mins.
I will put my stuff by the bed and get up and out tomorrow. I promise.Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

No still running , doing about 10 mile a week, usually 2 runs.
Next goal is to keep weight down to 13 stone, am quite stocky, ex rugby player etc etc, was nearly 15 stone when started running.
Looking at maybe doing the Cardiff half marathon in October / November.
Joined local running club so getting into it in a big way at the moment, they are trying to talk me into doing london marathon but after finished the half this time I can imagine having to go around again!!22/07/07 Debt - Tesco 17644 (6.1%) - Now 10500

Sick and tired down to a lack of sugar in your system BA, take a small handful of jelly beans in a bum bag or similar and have one occasionally for a mini sugar boost. also the taste and feel of them in your mouth is bleurgh!! (do you like the sound effect! sorry) but energy gels certainly got me round, I think they say have one every 5 or 6 miles, certainly gives you a boost.
One thing i do is picture myself running a mile down the road actually visualise myself further on and try to catch myself up. really keeps me going and puts you in a positive mindset.
Hope this helps!

It's ace isn't it that gmap. I have a watch that records time and distance (obviously pre DFW days) but before that I used gmap - it's quite good for planning where to go as well.
I bet you will surprise yourself how far you can run. This morning I kept thinking "I can do it" "I can't stop" and I listened to my head and ranI now ache like mad however and have got heels on which do not go well with tired thighs
Tonight get all your stuff ready and you will just "have" to do it - Big Brother's watching :rotfl:0
