Increase slowly, not sure what distances you are doing now but to do a half you need to run three times a week really,i started at 2 and built up over 4-5 months. The longer run you do, for me was a sunday am, should be slightly slower than your normal pace, Im no expert but I had a marathon runner training me22/07/07 Debt - Tesco 17644 (6.1%) - Now 10500

Joined local running club so getting into it in a big way at the moment, they are trying to talk me into doing london marathon but after finished the half this time I can imagine having to go around again!!
How have you found the running clubs - I have found two near me and e-mailed them but have to admit I am a tad scared of going to the first training  I run a lot with my friend but if she can't run one night I just don't go, so I need some inspiration and I think a running club might provide me with it0 -

Is ok am going this avo have planned my working day around it!! report will be completed in due course!
London would be an excellent acheivement SW, (note to self, PM hypno about wymondham running club). Do you find them friendly SW? A concern some people here have is that they will all be supertoned athletes with legs like gazelles and abandon the lesser mortals who have just joined. WOuld be good to hear how you found it?debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -
I was lucky, a mate of mind was a member but its great because they put you in the really slow group first and then put you with the group that run your speed, all very relaxed and friendly22/07/07 Debt - Tesco 17644 (6.1%) - Now 10500

Me again!! I can do between 3 miles - 7 miles depending on how much time I have got and how I feel. Think maybe if I do two short ones and a long one on a SUnday and increase times by 10 mins on a Sunday it might do the trick - jeez I'm tired just thinking about it0 -
Urm, sorry but I can't work out that gmap thing, I keep finding myself plotting routes around Mexico, which might be more interesting than Surrey but not very DFW getting there!
How do you make it zoom in on your home patch?
Re running clubs - I'm sure they'd be really friendly! There is one here that has a kids section at the same time as adults. I used to take DD3 last summer and the adults seemed lovely and were always urging me to stay. I didn't dare of course. But they looked like a very welcoming bunch and the session they did for the kids was great.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -

No there are some really fit ones there, ie half marathon in 1-15 etc but the bulk of people are there to get fit and meet people, I was surprised how friendly it was and relaxed, they are not all toned atheletes, especially when Im there!22/07/07 Debt - Tesco 17644 (6.1%) - Now 10500
