    I did it!

I couldnt sleep so I got up at 5 and went straight out. I did a route I guessed to be a mile - how do you work this out for sure?

Anyway I alternated running and walking six times in all, with the running bits longer than the walking bits. Annoyingly I forgot to look at the clock when I left but I don't think I was out much more than 15 minutes and I'm pretty chuffed with myself, not bad for a first attempt :T

When I got home I was so energised I did a quick flylady and cleaned the cooker!

I'm definitely going to keep this up. If anyone has advice on how to build up to run mile, please tell me.

    Good girl Sea

Keep it up. Not sure how you measure how far you have gone either so would be grateful for an answer to that one.

As to the building up to running a mile then carry on as you did today but take shorter walks in between.

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/ - try this to work your routes out, to do UK I think you go to other options.

Well done you, the best way to start is walk/run - gradually build it up you so are running more than walking - I started off at walk 1 min - run 1 min and gradually walk 1 min - run 2 mins.

    It's ace though isn't it - well done:T

    :T Well Done Seawyn :T
It took me 40 mins to walk to work today, I couldn't imagine running it!
(I sort of power walk without the pumping arms bit, so don't know how far it was, and I shan't willingly do it again:p Can't believe that running is fun?

    I so was :j

Got up at 5.50am :j DH thought he was in luck and I had put the alarm clock on for some early morning action :rotfl:

I did 4.16 miles in 39.48 mins. Walked once up a massive hill for about 30 seconds, but was running to my Ipod and the thought that if I don't hurry up I'll be late for work.

I have proved myself wrong on two things this morning. I have always said I can't run alone and I can't run in the morning - I can do both :j Felt fantastic when I got back, just like you said Seaxwyn completely energised. Had shower and managed to eat breakfast with the kids before dashing off to work and getting in before everyone else.

Am seriously thinking I could do this 3 or 4 mornings a week and then running won't eat into family time in the evenings.

    Well done us :T
