Yippee, I've finally completed an interval session, the first in 4 weeks!:D

Its the best so far comfortably (Previous best 6:36 avge on Pulse 142) and felt good.

But the most important thing was to see how the legs had dealt with the 18 miler, 48 hours earlier. Clearly quite well by the looks of it, so I'm pleased with that session in all respects!:D :D

Chickadee, I cant see me not doing the Pennine 10K now, so I look forward to seeing you and your OH on Sunday!:D I'm not sure that I'll recognise you without a snowy hill behind you!:p :p

Well done Rich and Hypno - just got in - phew only an hour late - me and trains and the moment arent happy bed fellows which is bad news since I dont drive :(

Anyway, thanks for all the best wishes - it was a really nice day my granny had a lovely long life and her surviving family are a real credit to her so its nice to get everyone together and celebrate that in a weird way :D

No chance of getting out tomorrow morning now (I am not getting up in five and half hours :D), but I have no plans for tomorrow evening so hopefully once I've packed I can go for a nice easy 10k...we'll see what the streets are like - being in prime tourist country it may be too manic...

Anyway I refuse to feel guilty for being a bit off track this week - this is my last sleep before New York :D

Thanks for the pm Chick :D

How about a midnight run to watch the fireworks? Or would that just be silly?

When are you off to NY? And when is the race?

The taxi's coming at 04:20am!!!!!!! Eekkk - but the flights not till 8.20 or something...

Midnight run could be possible but I'd like to be all packed before then really...

We're not doing any races now as the NY racing doesnt start again till 7th Jan - but we are going out in central park running which is pretty exciting :D

Good luck in your race tomorrow - I dont think I'll be on MSE much over the next week so I'll try to catch up on how it went when I get back :D

Well, have a fabby dabby time - I know you will - and enjoy Central Park! Shame about the lack of a race, but not the end of the world. Thanks for the good luck - at least with it only being a 10k, I know I can get round.....whether I can get in under the hour is debateable but I shouldn't be too far off.

Will do - I just need to make sure I don't go off too fast - I have developed a habit of doing my first two miles too quickly then having to revert to my plodding pace later on  If I can get 60mins or thereabouts, though, I will be happy with my progress so far.

I cant do that because it takes me two miles to warm up in this cold...I run quite slowly until my hands get warm and my bum muscles are warm - that means when I speed up I'm not going to pull any muslces :D

Oooo bought a new running top yesterday in Manchester - £15 from tk maxx and it has extra bits on the arms with thumb slits to keep your hands warm when you start out! Not bad considering the running shop had thinner tops for £45!!

Oh and can I say - they were soooo rude in the running shop there :( - proper snooty runners looking at me like I didnt know what I was doing and they had trainers at £150!!!
