**due to lack of cherry liqueurs, will mint thorntons do?**

sally, I am very sure you will be fine in April - I had two weeks off with my cold and have not done more than 6 miles since so I am in need of getting my milage up too......you will be absolutely fine! Go over to runners world and look at some of their "intermediate" FLM plans - they are 16 weeks which would start next Sunday - you don't have to follow them, but it does give you an idea of what you can achieve in 16 weeks with a specific event in mind!

I feel very bad today, because I had NO reason not to run except sheer laziness......and it was laziness that won the day - no excuses of childcare, work, weather, exhaustion, time........just laziness. I must kick that into touch methinks....:o

But first, I need to finish these chocolates :rotfl:

Becky...he must have been lazy at some point otherwise he wouldn't have become the Overweight Veteran ;) However now he is in training....my bet is being lazy and having a day off doesn't enter his mind!

  • The truth is that I'm probably lazier than anyone!:p

The beauty of having been through loads of previous build ups is that you know it gets easier and easier....to the point where its easier to go and do a run than not!

    And I'm not joking!

Its just about getting to that stage now and its great!:D :D

18 miles in the morning and it seems like no big deal (especially with get outs at 6 miles and 12 miles:p ) whereas just completing a continuous 5K 12 weeks ago was a massive effort and delayed for hour after hour until I could build up the energy to do it!

PS Anything minty will do just nicely, thanks!:D :D

Feeling rather :o:( when I see everyones improvements and amazing running which I know is down to hard work and dedication.,...something I seem to lack.

You aren't on your own Sally. I have been a bit thin on dedication too over Christmas (and that is the only thing I can be described as thin on after the amount of food I have consumed :o ) Oh well, tomorrow is another day....
