Hi all, Thought I would just pop in for a chocolate. I like the nutty ones Hypno! Better than expected seasonal running for me, well, better that the few weeks in the run-up to Christmas anyway. We actually went out for a run on Christmas morning. How keen is that? We made it extra festive by wearing our santa hats
. Yesterday OH did the Boxing Day 10k. I didn't run, having hurt my knee by falling asleep with my feet up but my knees unsupported after a humumgus Christmas Dinner. Its OK now but it was aching yesterday and as we had a 9-yo to look after I took the easy option and watched instead. Went out this morning for an hour with a new runchum, one of my marathon training group. Route was quite hilly, so good for leg strength. Easy conversation pace for me, but a bit less so for run-chum, so I just nattered all the way round and she gasped a few words of encouragement. It was a lovely morning too, I could have run for ages. I'm very disappointed that a race I had planned to do tomorrow has reached its limit of 1,000 runners! I should have entered earlier, but didn't get round to it. Never mind, I'll go for a run anyway.
Fantastic runs by both Rich & Becky. Well done to you both.
OH and I have decided to do the Prague marathon. It is on 10th May, so it gives me plenty of time to train for it. OH will still be suffering the after-effects of London, but he will probably run with me, which will be quite a novelty for both of us. He doesn't think he'll be up to doing a second full-on race in such a short space of time so he's decided to pootle round as he can't bear to spectate!
So Rich, whenever you are ready I would like a new training plan please. I'm still planning to do the track sessions as this fits in with DS's football training. I appreciate that I'll have to commit to more runs, but I was hoping that I might keep it to four per week. Is that realistic?
Anyway, I've nattered on long enough. (And I haven't hit the gin yet!)
Happy running all!Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Hi Chickadee!
Glad you had a good xmas!:D
I know what you mean about falling asleep in awkward positions - I ended up in a strange one but I couldn't really move because I had a new puppy asleep on me - that caused a wee bit of stiffness yesterday!
And it was a nice running morning today, glad you enjoyed it.
Is your OH mad? 2 marathons 2 weeks apart!!!
As far as training is concerned you can get by with 4 runs per week as long as the key elements are there ie distance runs get up to 20 miles, speed from the track sessions and then sustained speed in some other session.
What are you thinking of then in terms of time? Or don't you care as long as you do it?
Prague in Spring sounds good!:DIs it flat btw?
