  • Hi all, no running for me today, was busy building the B&Q kitchen up, half way there just need to work out how to get a plumber, and bring 9mtrs of worktop home..

On the subject of treadmills, i think they are false when trying to run.

If you have it set at 0 degrees incline, the belt pulls your foot back for you, but on the road you have to propell yourself forward.

I cant stand treadmil, but like running except for when you meet a uneven paving slab, and the rest follows..
  • So the list goes on, and now it becomes....

    Wk 1

    Sun 7th Dec - Skegness 4.5k fun run in 22m 53s
    Tues 9th Dec - 3.1 (5k) mile jog / run just under 30mins (non-stop)
    Thur 11th Dec - 3.1 (5k) mile jog / run 30m 38s (non-stop)

    Wk 2

    Sun 14th Dec - 3.5mile jog / partial run in 35m20s
    Tues 16th Dec - 3.1 (5k) total failure - walked it
    Thur 18th Dec - 3.1mile (5k) in 28mins 47secs

    Wk 3

    Sun 21st Dec - 4.1miles in 45mins (estimated - not timed)
    Wed 24th Dec - 2.97mile in 28mins (estimated - not timed)
    Friday 27th Dec - 3miles in just under 30mins

I took the dog with me today, so that slowed me down a little, and at some places found the dog was pulling me, though at the end i was dragging the dog so i guess she got her pay-back. Started to ache in my left foot as i was going, sort of cleared about 5mile later but then chest pain / stitch in the left boob area, reduced the pace to a walk for a few tree's, prob about 100m and the pain reduced so pressed on again.

And here we are now, one dog in the kitchen panting away, and im sat here cooling off..

Big run is ment to be tomorrow, see how i feel in the morning.

Sorry you didnt get any running in Alias...building kitchens sounds far to much like hard work for me :D

I wondered about the mechanics of treadmills I think its the reverse of what happens on the road apparently - but its great if you cant get out because of the dark and still works on improving your lung capacity and stamina...

Edit: ah cross posting - congrats on getting out today! What are the plans for tomorrow?

Morning all! Bit nippy here today. So far I am undecided whether to run today or tomorrow (as planned).......as I am still in my pjs drinking coffee, tomorrow looks like it is winning so far :rotfl:

    Happy running everyone x

  • Becky, no idea for tomorrow.

Might put in a 5mile run to the sea-side again, or just push out a good 3miler. Have sore throat, bit of runny nose to wease as i run. Wont let it stop me if i cant.

Still have to carry on building the kitchen, buy a sink, some taps, an oven, an hob and try to get 3x 2mtr lengths of worktop home.

What a great morning to run - really fresh and still.

The race was great and again I am taken somewhat by surprise. I was really expecting a backward step timewise today due to the mileage in the last 3 days. But, instead another chunk of time has come off and a Top 10 position. I'm a little gobsmacked! :D:D The races so far have gone:

    22nd Nov 23:21 Posn 45th
    29th Nov 22:47 Posn 50th
    6th Dec 22:08 Posn 25th
    20th Dec 21:44 Posn 15th
    27th Dec 21:09 Posn 9th

I hope everyone has enjoyable runs today and good luck to Becky with the 14 miler to complete a 'marathon in 72 hours' over xmas!:D

You're well on target for 3-30 and running 26 miles in 72 hours is all about the strength it develops in your legs. I know you'll enjoy it!

    9 weeks till winning? I don't know about that!:p :p
