I was fully intending going for a run as soon as I got home from work.

But I am so so hungry that it hurts (celery and hummous not enough at lunchtime, obviously!) and I fear that I might pass out if I run before eating! So I have some fish fingers in the oven and will have to go out later on! Just hope I don't make myself too comfy on the sofa in the meantime!

**note to self - eat properly........there is a marathon to train for**

The guy who finished 13th, 2 places in front of me, was about 20 secs behind me at 3k. That means he took roughly a minute out of me over the last 2K......and he's nearly 70!

This made me laugh! There is a chap who runs in local races and he must be about 70 as well. The thing is, his running kit looks about 70 too. I'm sure the shorts used to be red many years ago. Now they are very thin and very pale pink. Thing is, he usually finishes well up the field from me  .

    I'm thinking I'll peak somewhere between 40 & 60 as well. I'm still on the up. :D

Had yet another weekend away this week. This time in Hull with the future in-laws. Very nice but I really need to get running! Football training is off until 5th jan so I'll not be at the track until then, but there are a few local festive races coming up. a 10k on Boxing Day, for which we have already got out Santa Suits :xmassmile, and another 10k on Sunday, so If I do them all (which is good training in itself) and get back into my routine with a vengeance in january I'll still be having a go at my sub-50 min target 10k at the end of Jan. I've lost my way a bit over the last few weeks but once the shopping, wrapping and cooking is out of the way I'll be less stressed and more inclined to get my trainers on.

Merry Christmas to all the runners! :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassmile :xmassign:

Merry Christmas to you too, Chickadee!!! I know you will soon get back into running, just as soon as "real life" has gotten out of the way!

Having eaten, I now have this rush of overwhelming tiredness (eyes hurt, sort of tired, rather than can't be bothered sort of tired). GAH!!! I wish I had run straight after work.

Well you're lights off Hypno so I'll assume you've gone out...

    Happy xmas Chick!!!

Oooo I've had the most horrible heart burn all day, but luckily its a rest day...I'm hoping not to miss intervals tomorrow but if its bad still I'd rather skip them and get it checked out - apparently the term is runners reflux - nice!

Not gone out, and sadly not going to - too too tired. My own fault for not eating properly over the last couple of days. One of my new years' resolutions is to eat three meals a day! I should have learned my lesson by now :o

Hope your heatburn improves becky x

I'm not too worried about missing today - after all, I did yesterday and the day before, and I have 6 miles planned for Wednesday morning so my milage for the week will be fine by the time I finish.

I am more annoyed with myself really - I make sure my very sporty children eat according to their training, and then I don't do it myself!

  • Chickadee - I'm glad the goal is still on. Even if you don't do it by the end of Jan there's always another race - and you're certainly capable of going under 50 mins.:D

Becky - I've never heard of runner's reflux before, but I have now - just googled it. All I can say is I'm glad that I'd finished my pizza before reading it!:o Have you had the same symptoms before or is this more of a one-off?

    Hypno - Get eating!:p :p

Rich - nope I've never had it before like this, but...I do get burpy during running (sorry tmi most likely) so I suspect it is that - hopefully it's a one off...I'm going to try and eat a bit better after xmas, but I've been stuffing my face because I've been a bit worried about the amount of weight I've lost.

I dont want to lose too much more so trying to keep the calories up with junk...I think I'm going to have to accept a bit more off is fine and just get used to it - I do like being this tiny, but I dont want to look 'ill' or 'lollipop' if that makes sense...

Burpy is normal for everyone I think (that is if that is actually a word:p ).

Yep, let your weight find its own level. I've still got 1st 7lbs to lose so you can have that if you want!:p

You wont look ill if you feel strong, so just eat when you're hungry and if you're tired have a rest day then you'll always stay healthy!:D :D:D
