Hi JJ,
Well done on the circuits - my least favourite thing ever apart from the bleep test
After a good running weekend I've been struggling so far this week with cramp yesterday that turned my intervals into a slwo run and I managed to turn over my ankle today on a big stone so decided to go back to bed for a while...
Hopefully leaving off today means I can be on top form tomorrow.
Happy running everyone!0 -
JJ - Good luck with the 10K.
Personally, I always found circuit training somewhat punishing - it makes you feel fitter but can leave you with so many aches in weird places that running then suffers. Or then again maybe I didn't do it for long enough!:p
Becky - Glad you enjoyed your weekend running. A bit of cramp yesterday is obviously nothing to worry about, but I hope you don't have any after effects from the twisted ankle - fingers crossed!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Becky,
you have not had a good few days, hope theres nothing too seriously wrong with the turned ankle. Hopefully a day off will make the cramp go away aswell.
Enjoy the bed!Running Club5KM - 25:20(51.21%) 10KM - 53:40(50.26%)1/2 Marathon - 2.14.57(44.20%)Marathon 5:11:00 (40.78%)0 -
Rich, i do about 1 hour of circuit training 3 times a week at the moment as well as trying to fit the runs in that i know that i need to do. I need to keep fitting them in as other wise i will just get disheatened with not improving.Running Club5KM - 25:20(51.21%) 10KM - 53:40(50.26%)1/2 Marathon - 2.14.57(44.20%)Marathon 5:11:00 (40.78%)0

Thats why you can handle it so well - I only ever did one session per week of circuit training, you're probably hardened to the regime as with any exercise!
Any runs above 4 miles will keep you improving, don't worry too much about pace at this stage.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

My 5k last night turned into a nightmare, the wife was on my case about getting home late, and spending time with my little one that by the time i went out for the run, about 7mins in, i lost all hope and a 5k run turned into a 5k walk.
Only took about 18mins longer, but i did enjoy it. Was actually thinking of walking this route each day i dont go out for a run to stretch the legs off.
jjwhittle, where you at to be doing CPT that early.?#

Afternoon all,
I haven't posted for a few days but I have still been training, Although I missed my first session since I began on Monday, But I hope to be forgiven as its only 'cos I did a 25 Mile walk on Sunday which left me a little worse for wears
I did manage to get back out again today to complete day 2,of week 6 of the couchto5k plan. which meant 10 run, 3 walk and 10 run. man did my legs still hurt!, luckily my cold seems to be going but I've been left with a lovely cough
If anyone is interested in the photos from my walk I geotagged and uploaded them here

Especially nice was when I fell over 7 miles in, and got covered in mud, which I then had to drag with me for the next 18 miles
Cheers

30DB,
8 hours exercise in one go! I'm not surprised you needed some rest - great effort! Most people would have been happy enough settling for that first 15 mile walk.
All good for the weight loss though.
Did you fall in the mud while being chased by the concrete cows?:pGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Those concrete ones are the worst!, you can't hear them sneak up on you until...BAM!, your sitting in a pile of mud
The only good thing about it was the memory of watching me fall helped my fellow walkers make it roundAnd I'm always happy to help out

30DB,
When your on the couchto5k plan,
What sort of time for the 5k is prescribed, as i can run 5k, well jog 5k in just over 30mins, probably less if i timed it right.
I cant seem to pitch myself against the right level, what sort of times are you hoping to complete the 5k to give me a guide.
