After the 14 miles on Sunday and the fastest intervals yesterday, my legs were definitely asking for a bit of a breather today, so it was very steady just to get the miles in the bank.

With a light drizzle all the way it was actually a really refreshing run.

Oh Rich I meant to ask what my target time for Sunday - I was thinking 2.20, since my first 12 was 1.59 but I missed one a few weeks ago - does that sound okay??

Well done on the run - nice to see even you need a breather sometimes :D

Run to how you feel, the only aim when tackling a new distance is to get round.

Having said that, if 2-20 was on the clock at the end that would represent a job well done. Run it in a way that you are always trying to save something if you can, so that you're holding back.

If you get to the end and dont feel as though you are imminently going to collapse that is far more important than the actual time for this first effort!

  • St Albans 10 - 18th January 2009

It may well be that nobody is interested but since it is rare to find good fast, flat 10 mile road races where PBs are achievable, you may be interested in the St Albans 10 on 18th January.

There is a limit of 1000 entries and a time limit of 2 hours so it may be best to get in early if interested.

Becky has already entered and I'm just about to, although strangely entry by post is the cheapest method.
