    great run jj, well done
  • Oooh a running club! Can I join? I have a background in road running, cross country and triathlon, but haven't done much since I became an Ironman in 2006, and I'm 2 stone overweight. I've a 10k in the morning and if I can do anywhere between 50 mins and an hour I'll be happy...

Its nice to get back to running 10K again, its the kind of distance that makes you feel like you're getting somewhere, isnt it?

I'm really pleased with how I'm progressing, I feel really strong and have a whole new love for my running although the love for the hills may take a bit longer :p
  • Hi Evab,

Yep, that's the plan. I still swim, and I cycle to work but knee problems with Look clipless pedals mean that the 100+ mile training rides needed for Ironman are out of the question until I can get some professional (and expensive) help on my bike set-up. I'm looking at doing a couple of half-Ironman races next year (I can do them without too much training) but I want the big focus for 2009 to be on my running. I have a half marathon next month and would like to work up to a sub-4hr marathon in the spring. So are you a racer?

I've just started running again since having my baby in August, my first race is in Feb a 10km, then the next one planned so far is Leeds 10km in June but will have to find something in between. I just want to keep building up the distances and see how I get on.
