well done, P - the important thing is that you got out there and did some!

40lbs is some going! I am sure it will find it's right level, but trust that you will notice should you need to up your calorie intake to offset additional exercise to stop the weight dropping too far.

Oh yes - the appetite always gets satisfied. The body knows what its doing, so if it asks for food it gets it, if it doesn't want any so be it! Theres no conscious effort needed when it comes to weight and running.

It will settle at about 3,500 calories a day, but I won't be counting!

They might be harder because of the hills, but at least you get more benefits from them.......always a silver lining and all that!:D

Its 4 miles in the bank - most of the benefit is unrelated to the pace it is run at, so its a good run.

It can be tough running alone when you have been used to running with a buddy. I always used to run with other people but now I'm running alone I really enjoy it. Its a different experience but I manage to think about the day's events and get things into perspective when I'm alone. I still like running and chatting though. ;) (Only with others; I'd look a bit odd running along talking to myself...)

At least you managed to get yourself out of the door. Always the hardest part of any run. Well done, and don't think of them as hills - think of them as an opportunity to use a different muscle group!! :D:D

an excellent start to the day becky :T

I am working a looooong day today, so no chance for running today - I will go out tomorrow evening instead. I am sure the additional forced rest day will do me no harm.

To all those who manage to get some miles in, have a good one!!

  • Congratulations, Becky!!!

I'm talking about finding your pulse, not the run!:p:p

But the run wasn't too shabby - in fact, where did that come from?

So, maybe 9-10 per mile on a 10K hill session at 6am, probably worth 8-45 on a flat 10K, or around 54 minutes. However you look at it, that is mighty impressive and a huge leap forward in fitness.

You often feel like you're stagnating as you pile in the miles, only to be surprised by something like this when it all comes together.

Nobodys going to be able to put you in a bad mood today!:D:D

I get up at 5.30am on thursdays to fit it all in - but I did have to go to bed at 8am last night - eeek, just scuttled off to check the footy score...wow we won! I cant believe that!

Oooo I feel good - and I registered at a doctors today so I've done a lot ofr this itme in the morning! I'm hoping for 54 mins on Sat actually...but we'll see as it'll have to be pretty early to beat all the tourists (going to do a flat 10K this time)...I do love my hills though!
