Although I havent done my sit ups again today
This reminds me, actually...discovered last night that a new bookcase in the house (well, about 3 years "new", anyway) is at just the right height to slip your feet under for sit ups and did...don't laugh...20! The first time I've done situps in about 5 years, probably...but it felt quite good (in a painful kinda way) - so may try and do them every so often in the evening...gotta help with the running somehow, doesn't it?

Hi Becky, Was that immediately after your run? If so, you must be more comatose than Rich if you can do a run (even an easy run) with a HR of 80!
Have you measured your resting heart rate? You need to take this when you have been relaxing for quite a while, or as soon as you wake up in the morning. My RHR is 56, but I'm expecting this to come down as I get fitter. Even when I am just pottering about making a cup of tea or tidying up, my HR is 70+. When I run it is usually over 120, even on easy runs.
Okay just measured it now...51 sitting at desk at work...not sure how relaxed that is, but I'm guessing its pretty low...
Oooo coachie where are you to advise me, is that good or bad, surely it shouldn't be below 60??

my resting pulse was measured as 51 at the gym this morning, which I was quite surprised at, but wasn't going to argue.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Well, did the 5 mile route again...managed a pretty decent pace:
8:07/7:46/7:42/7:36/7:33
With only one problem...I just couldn't finish the last mile, gave up after 4.6(35:23)
I, apparently, am way too stupid to learn that having a poor work out one day, then going out and trying to "make up for it" the next day just really doesn't work. Just leaves you feeling more frustrated. Nevermind. Tomorrow's another day....0 -

One of the girls I run with sometimes fell and broke her wrist on a run. They took her into theatre to operate and were shocked to find her pulse was 46...apparently you're supposed to have an elevated pulse right before surgery0 -
Hi All,
Did my run today - total time 43 minutes. Rest tomorrow out again Friday lunchtime.
