Rich,
If you are going to quote my posts, would you please quote them with the posts I'm replying to so they do not appear so out of context as they do in your post.
Thank youIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

going to try for a fiver hon just to ease me back into it again. how about you?
karate is at bannantynes tonight so either the 4 or the 6.......undecided as yet.
If I do a 4 tonight, I would want to do another longer one tomorrow, which would then mean I would have done 4 days without a break. Or I could do the 6 tonight, then have tomorrow as an easy couple or an even easier 0 and then the usual 4 or 5 miles on Friday before my target 10 on Sunday.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hi everyone,
Is it safe to come back in now? Sorry to see that people seem to have taken offence at some of the advice given on here recently. Personally I have only gained from the discussions we have had on this thread and I'm saddened to see that others have not. Don't forget, we all have our own opinions, and as in all activities, sports, etc. there are different schools of thought. Not every football manager runs his club the same way and they all have varying degrees of success. Its the same here. We're not all running marathons. My goal of a sub-50min 10k is only a personal goal, nothing more. I like having a goal as it gives my training some purpose, but if I never achieve it, at least I have stayed fitter whilst trying!
Anyway, I did my track session last night. 4 x 800m. The rain was torrential and as I was doing laps, in one direction the wind was behind me, in the other direction I was blown and buffetted! Had to take my glasses off as with the rain and steaming up I couldn't see a thing! Still managed to do a 3:58 average (3:53, 4:00, 3:59; 4:02) so I was happy with that, given the conditions. Typically, it is a lovely day here today and I'm tempted to have a run out again tonight if the weather stays fair.
Happy running everyone, whether your goal is a mile or a marathon!Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Hypno hon, do the 6 tonight and then have a rest day tomorrow. I sadly due to my recent lapse attitude will be running for the remainder of the week! eep!debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -
Have to say, Rich, I found your last couple of posts quite upsetting.
I've never heard you offer anything but support and guidance to people on here...And, personally, I've certainly learnt a lot and am a better runner as a direct result of a number of your posts and am extremely thankful for that. To have someone, for whatever reason, completely fail to take a step back, a deep breath, look at the bigger picture etc and go off like you were insulting them, or trying to demotivate them...I can't imagine how demoralising that must be for you...I know I, as a member of the "clique" (I'm fairly sure, after running for all of five months I'm classed as "elite" by now) am certainly discouraged from posting as a result...But your posts *do* make a difference...so please keep up the good work0 -
