    Evening All,

Had a terrible run this morning and had to abandon after 4 miles or so (which I had done in 35 mins - typically the fastest time yet)...couldnt work out if I was getting a cold or tired from the hills in the week so anyway I went back to bed for 3 or so hours got up and was incredibly thirsty so I guess it may have been dehydration...still feel a bit peeky but went out and got some more fresh air and feel a lot better...its disappointing to lose a long session but ah well my 4 milers have been coming along this week so cant have everything I suppose!

    My week anyway:
Tues 4.1 miles hills 38 mins
Weds 4.1 miles hills 40 mins
Thurs 4.3 miles easy 40 mins
Fri 4.75 miles easy 40 mins
Sun 12 - not completed but 4.2 miles in 35 mins!

So total this week is just over 21 miles compared with near on 35 last week - but its all good going into next week!

Well done on everyone else's runs! :)
  • Um,
Sunday 1 mile 15 mins (half and half)
    Tues 1 mile 14 mins " "

    Thurs 1 mile 14 mins" "

    LOL!

Oh, and 20 mins circuit today, AND 20 minutes on the power plate.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha

bunny we all have to start at the beginning! Don't put yourself down - the very fact that you have run three times this week, AND have been to the gym is pretty good and something you should be proud of.

how many times did you run last week........or the week before that, hey  So you have made just as much progress as everyone else - if not MORE so, because those first few are the hardest ones!

    Bunny you're doing fab!

This thread can be unintentionally daunting for new runners because there are quite a lot of very serious runners here. But there's a few of us 'ohh my god a mile is a long way' plodders too. :D

    It's all good!

  • These Sundays are getting quite active now - its nice to see all the weekly summaries being posted, it puts all the individual runs in context and its nice to see patterns emerging.

Bunny - Well done on the first week. That amount of physical activity puts you ahead of, probably, 80% of the population. Just keep posting at the end of each week and that will motivate you to keep progressing. Remember its all about long term cumulative efforts, not what happened in any one week.

Becky/Sally - Well done on both listening to the body's warning signs. You've both taken the right approach by assuming the answer is a bit more rest. You'll come back stronger, no worries.

Maz - It looks like you're getting a nice routine going again, consistency is the key after all rather than trying to do too much too soon.

Hypno - Another really good effort. You will gain a nice chunk of stength from that run. And despite your feeling that you're stuck on 11 minutes for ever, it is a racing certainty that you will be going much quicker than that, for the same effort, in 6-8 weeks time.

Well done to anybody else who has been out and I have missed.
