    Hi

Hope it's ok to post how I'm going - will assume it is as no-one said otherwise :)

I have maanged to do 2x 20 min walks yesterday and today. Won't get a chance tomorrow, but would like to do another 20 mins on Friday and then slowly build up to longer walks then increase pace later :)

So feeling good- well done everyone for your progress :)

Hi all, and well done on your usual great efforts

I did a couple of miles Monday night, still feeling quite sluggish though. I think I need to enter another race and have a target to aim for.

BA, I hope your enthusiasm is coming back, saw on other thread you were feeling a bit fed up so hope things are getting better. SW, I think Pania said she was having internet problems so fingers crossed she's back with us soon!

Well done sea, keep it up you'll be surprised at how quickly the fitness increases when you keep at it.

I agree RS80 - I have found having a target keeps me motivated to carry on with the runs, I find it all to easy to say 'I'll go out tomorrow' but a focus always helps.

Well done with the running club SW, good going!

:hello: I'm back and happier - was in a huge grump yesterday which didn't help matters

Skived off work today (naughty, naughty!) and me and friend went our for an hour and did 6 miles. She agreed with me 5x a week is too much so we are going to go 3x instead - much more "me" time now :T

Went to pilates last night and I am really really enjoying it and can highly recommend it. She made us do work on the ball last night and my stomach is killing this morning but I am definately walking taller and much better posture. It's also nice as you're not running around but just lying there and stretching etc

I think the thread has gone quiet because the weather is just so pants and uninspiring for a run. I know once I'm out there I'm fine but sometimes the thought..................

It's fine to post Sea, why on earth not (congrats on pg as well, makes me ever so slightly broody have to admit :o )

I think entering a race is a really good idea Redsquirrel, gives you something to aim for and try and better yourself. My run for life is re-scheduled for Sunday and then we have a 10km in Sept and then North Run in Oct     deep breaths............am also considering entering for the Marathon (do note the word considering though).

Off to take DD to swimming lessons now and watch her exert some effort instead whilst I drink hot chocolate (own in a flask of course :D and read my book)
  • Welcome Back BA

Yep - you are all right.. OK, tonight's mission is to find a race! Was thinking about doing the Great Yorkshire Run (10k) in Sept but that's only two months to get myself fit enough which might be a bit overambitious.

Saw Pilates balls etc in TK Maxx the other day so I think I'm going to pop in there sometime this week and get one. The class I went to a couple of times before is re-starting in September so I'll definitely be back along to that.. back is a bit sore today and I feel like I need stretched!

  • Running Club last night

Split our group into two slower and quicker ones, I ended up in the quicker group, did 6miles at average 8.30m mile, was knackered but felt Ok during run, looks like this is how it is going to stay now, which is good. 8 in group, 5 men and three women, we all worked really well together, swapping from front to back etc.

Well done SW thats good going.

I've just been out for my speed session, I use the term speed lightly as I wasn't that quick! I managed 4 times round the field at a quicker pace and rested between each lap, couldn't manage more than 1 lap at a time.

Feel shattered but I suppose thats the whole point!

    Off to work now.
