    Yep, it can happen!

Running on a beach at dusk in Tunisia I was bitten by a rabid dog. Obviously I didn't know it was rabid at the time but it was confirmed the next morning.

Injections direct into the stomach muscle on a daily basis was the result - I could hardly walk!

And when you re-enter the country you have quite a routine to go through - from Gatwick I was taken straight to the North Thames Tropical Diseases centre, I wasn't given a choice!

    Hey Poor,

I was going to head down there myself but opted for a night in under the duvet eating chocolate...

Its even worse on Sat - I've got to get up at 5am so I can run before catching my train at 7.30! Eeeeek
  • Having just had my entry for the Leeds Abbey Dash returned due to oversubscription (!!!!!! thats never happened outside the London before!!!!!) I've been having a little look around for other possible races.

Interestingly, I came across a series of races which may be of interest to other people:

    Distance: 5km
    Entry Fee : FREE
    When: EVERY Saturday at 9am
Venues: Bushy, Wimbledon, Banstead, Richmond, Brighton, Leeds, Cardiff, Bramham, Middlesbrough, Basingstoke, Glasgow
Entry Method: Online registration by Friday 6pm

These are a great idea to use either as a) a regular quality session or b) a way of checking how training is going or c) a regular training run

In terms of standards - the results for Leeds last week showed times from 17mins to 40mins so that pretty much covers the full range of abilities.

My garmin 405 has just been delivered. I have had a sneaky peek but I am not allowed to have it until my birthday at the weekend.

I must justify being able to set it all up ahead of my birthday, so that I don't spend half of sunday reading instructions - I do want to be able to just head out and run with it on the day!

    :D

None of those races are near me, either - otherwise I think I would def be doing some of them - especially as they are FREE!!!
