Hi everyone! Hope you are all well, I realised that I haven't been on the board in ages, and I thought I'd drop by!
My running is going well, I'm still running a mile at a time, but im doing this around 4 times a week. I want to push myself, but I'm not sure how to get past that psychological barrier!
I'm gonna go back through the thread a bit now, and catch up on all the running news!0 -
Back from a 4.1 mile run with Pania - we both had a really good run and even managed to pick up the pace towards the end. Sadly, though, we were convinced that it was a bit further so a little disappointed once the route was put in getmapping, but hey ho......
The time was 46.12...........still best described as "steady pace" I suppose, although it certainly felt much faster than we have done before.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. It WAS much faster than we've done before! thoroughly enjoyed it and kept the pace up all the way around! We both recovered very quickly and felt fine. longer distances here we come!!!debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0

Yes, you're right, P - it was an enjoyable run and we are more than capable of upping the distance a little........:DSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Morning All,
Did my easy four miles this morning - gosh it was freezing!!!! 42 mins which is fine for an easy day, felt that fartlek from yesterday though in the legs.
No snow here though - although it cant be too far away as I saw cars with snow on driving past.
Nice running hypno/pania!
Got my hills tomorrow - yippee!0 -
That is a good run, becky - I find that the cold makes me run a little better - I am obviously desperate to get back in the warm so I put more effort in to get me home sooner!!
My legs are a little tired after the last couple of days efforts, (effort being the optimum word here!) but I am hoping to go out for a short run tonight, with a rest day tomorrow.
Good luck to those getting the miles in today!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Well done you lot! :T Feeling fine this morning after last night's run, had a gentle walk to work to stretch my legs out. My face is so cold though, I'm seriously considering a balaclava.. do you think I'd get some funny looks? :rotfl:
Discovered this morning that I've lost about half a stone since getting back into the running, wasn't a priority but I'm closer to my 'comfortable' weight now so quite happy with thatDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
The answer is no I did not run at 1.15 am this morning. Did you see the blizzard?
However I did get up and run at 9.00, and although it was cold , it was bright and sunny. After Monday's intense workout I put in an easy, more relaxed effort today. And it was very enjoyable.
No Squirrel, I am sure you would look as lovely as ever!
Anyway does it really matter what people think when we are running? It is not a fashion parade and in the long run we will look and feel better for the efforts we put in.“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0 -

Aww thanks, it might even be an improvement! :rotfl: Am thinking a balaclava might not be entirely comfortable, so am now thinking along the lines of some sort of fleecy hat with ear flaps
Nah it doesn't matter, I'm usually in some ramshackle non-matching outfit. I do need to buy some new leggings though as they were falling down a bit last nightDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0
