Today was the first session of 'quality' work after finishing the 8-week fitness programme.
Obviously, it has to be eased into to minimise risk of injury, but the planned session was a 3 x 1 mile. With a 10 mile run on Sunday and a 10 mile walk yesterday I was very cautious with these reps, but nonetheless pleased with the results for a first effort:
7:35, 7:31 and 7:27 on a 136 pulse suggesting 23:00 5K and 48:00 10K fitness.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Managed to up my distance from last Sunday's 8 mile run to a 9 mile run out this week. Managed to do that in one hour and 14 mins so I was quite pleased with that. It's getting cold out there though! Brrr!0

Evening all - yep, it's cold!!! 5k tonight, really enjoyable run apart from the cold face! 32 mins... soooo close to that 30 min target, I reckon I could knock those couple of minutes off if I didn't have to stop to blow my nose and at a couple of road crossings.
