Rich, another good week for you, getting quicker, longer runs and HOW much weight have you lost! So not fair!

Thats the benefit of using low intensity work to get the body prepared.

The power/weight ratio improves from two angles - stronger muscles and lower weight.

Its fairly logical though - 350 miles=10lbs fat loss plus increased metabolism for 4-6 hours after each run burning up more calories plus decrease in calorie intake.

But yes, all going as planned so very satisfied!

hey guys... i managed out for a run this morning.... not sure of the distance as it was paths and park so unable to track it, however i was out for 40 minutes so would imagine it was somewhere over 2.5miles even at my slow 15min mile pace.... it was ace running around the streets where i used to play as a young kid (we left there when i was 10) so it was a real blast from the past!

afterwards me n erin went swimming afterwards, reckon i got in 20 lengths at least....

well done to everyone getting out and doing it!

and big hugs to snaggilicious..... i know you'll have loads of offers but i'm here if you need a chat...
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

Awww, I knew runners were lovely people :grouphug:

Not sure about days etc yet Sally - his parting shot as he left was that he would never see the kids again - hope that was just hot air. :(

And Maz, thanks - your message earlier already helped x

Anyway, sorry for taking the thread off topic - I haven't got anything runnerly to say, but I'm going to keep trying, because I actually love running and don't want to stop.

So sorry to see your news Snaggles, though I sincerely hope he soon decides differently re the kiddies. They still need their daddy and I do so hope he soon finds he too will need them! Do your best to get out for the run you're in need of.

    Hugs, Sue.

Hi Sue - It sounds like the walking is helping your running strength, its nice when the benefits start to kick in. What mileage have you managed over the last few weeks? It sounds like you have a nice regular routine going.

Hi Rich. I'll never be great on running, I know that much, but I'm darn well going to do my very best to build it up. We try to go out 5 times a week, which based on the good 5 mile route we have, usually notches up 25 miles a week. Hopefully we can build on this and find a longer way round (hark at her, sounding like Ewan Mcgreggor or Charlie!) to get greater pleasure and fitness. Of course time has to be taken into account as well ....as .......the endorphins need to be listened to!!! ;) :A

Morning. Right, going to stop moping about not being able to run, and will run the school run with the pram. It's not ideal but at least it will keep me going.

    Good for you!

I seem to remember we started talking about 2 miles per day, so you've maintained a good deal more than that for quite a long period now.

You must be feeling a lot fitter as a result!

    Morning all,
Marathon training plan was for 8 miles running this week and 12 walking.
Did approx 15 walking but only 5 running due to Asthma playing up and having a bad chest. Did try but got about half a mile and knew I would be doing more harm than good. A pain as my Asthma is very mild usually.
Anyway, hope this week is better and hope everyone has a good week.
