Good to see you back Maz!
Great afternoon and just begging for us to go for a walk. Did another 5 miler and ran the last 1/2 mile again. The running's getting a good bit easier and I'm really pleased about that. With a bit of luck, more of the same again tomorrow.
How's your asthma Snaggles?
My asthma is terrible today (been around a cat, albeit a very cute one), but generally much better thanks. It hardly ever stops me running now."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Thanks for that Snaggles.
How amazing the asthma problem was for us both today then! We've been with our lad and their 2 dogs this evening and they always make mine much worse. I need to avoid cats too. I always have the blue inhaler with me wherever I go, but I don't like using it more than I have to, but things such as those certainly make me need to.
Ah well, all in a lifetime Snaggles! Exercise is good for us at least!!!
Night night.

Good luck for that run with tigtag, Snaggles - you will be fine. The time will just fly by as you chat all the way!
I am running with P this morning, while my children are skiing. My calves are aching a little so I won't be expecting miracles today!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Morning!
I'm strangely nervous about running with someone else - I've never done it before. Not quite sure about the chatting....might be able to manage an odd 'is it time to stop yet?' in her direction.... :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a good day today."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Morning Runners!
Hope everyone is out there pounding the streets/fields/grass! I got up at 6am this morning and have done my 10 miles. I nice slow easy 10 miles in an attempt to burn some fat rather than glycogen (see I have been listening Rich!) Did it in around 1 hour 50 (with a sneaky toilet stop included)
Snaggles I am waiting in anticipation to see how you have got on this morning...Im thinking that you will have surpassed your expectations and done 5 miles
Maz, lovely to have you back, have missed you, especially when we were talking boobilage! Back to the running this week then??I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Nice one, Sally!
I like hearing the words 'Nice, slow, easy' - these Sunday distance runs should be relaxing and enjoyable.
It felt nice and easy, but it was still done at a rhythm which was close to target marathon pace. In other words, there is no question about your ability to reach your target. To go from an easy pace over 10 miles to a slightly quicker pace over a marathon in 6 months is, quite frankly, a piece of cake.
The increase in distance will be automatic - you will be able to run slightly further simply as a result of doing today's session! And pace automatically increases as a result of weight loss and muscle strengthening.
So basically, if you get the sessions done, and remain uninjured, you will easily achieve your target.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Hi Sue - It sounds like the walking is helping your running strength, its nice when the benefits start to kick in. What mileage have you managed over the last few weeks? It sounds like you have a nice regular routine going.
I hope everyone's runs go well today - its what Sundays were made for!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

I have been out for a run with P - 38 mins round a lake. It was a lovely morning but boy was it tough!! We didn't stop and we DID manage to overtake those people who were walking round, so we must have been going at slightly more than walking pace!!
I can't map it out on realbuzz because bizarrely it doesn't show the lake and the path that we did - anyone got any other mapping sites that they use that might help......I hate not knowing how far I have been!!!
sally and rich - welldone for such good runs - 10 miles is fab!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hi everyone no runs for a few days as have had a cold and now have toothache, hopefully will be OK to go tomorrow.
Well done to everyone running, I'm very impressed!0 -
Afternoon all!
Well went out on my 10K Cancer Research run this morning. Had consumed far too much wine last night which wasn't helpful so ran out of energy at the 7K mark.
The route was beautiful but hilly and muddy which doesn't make for fast times, it was also a 2 lap route which I really don't like, nothing worse than seeing the 3K sign firmly next door to the 8K sign at the top of a whopping hill:eek: .
Anyhow got round in 58:12 so not bad really and felt fine, walked about 200meters up the steepest part of the hill both times but otherwise good. So dehydrated now though... feel like a shrivled prune! :rotfl:
Well any run is better than no run provided there is no injury I guess. Got dance training later so will be knackered by tonight.
On the eating front I can't stop munching, even the people in work comment on my hollow legs. I try to be good with what I eat but in terms of volume it's huge!!
Ah well.
Good luck to everyone running today and speak to you all soon
