Hellllooooooo I'm back..................unforgivably been away from the board because I was expected to do work in working hours  absolutely outrageous
I set my alarm for 5.45am and looked outside at the weather.........and went back to bedI love running, but quite frankly not that much! So, we went tonight instead, had a lovely 45 min run all the way down the canal, one wee stop (we really need to start wearing nappies) and one dead sheep, but apart from that really enjoyed it - did 5 miles :j Next planning 75 min run for Sunday.
It was me who mentioned Pilates, I went on Tuesday and it was really good, my body was killing on Weds morning, I have also been walking and running whilst holding my stomach in and it has made quite a difference I think. Apparently you should clench your butt too, but how many of these things can you really be expected to do at once????
I also sit on the ball at work, however discovered on Tuesday that I haven't been sat on it correctly and now my stomach is killing me - sure it will all be worth it. Lost another half a pound this week as well :j
Well done to everyone who has done the races this week, esp with the weather :T
What is the challenge then - time??
Off to bed now, body aches, just stuffed my face with a chinese and I'm at a christening tomorrow and I've promised to help out with the food at 9am  :eek:0 -
That sentence leaps out doesn't it?
:rotfl:I must admit that grabbed my attention as wellThe balls sound great (ahem :rotfl:).. definitely going to get one. Not sure they'd let me sit on it at work due to Health & Safety things but I might try!
Edited to add - a little happy DFW thing, just got one of my credit card statements in the post and the balance is back down below my credit limit for the first time in about a year (possibly more - didn't open them for ages in a head in the sand style)! No intention on spending on it again even if they'd let me but it feels like a bit of a milestone
Anyway, off for the weekend so have a lovely one everyone and enjoy your running if you get out there :TDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
good work ba, you're doing well.
I'm going to weigh myself later, I have been trying for ages to get under 11 stone but am always just on it or just over! I'm 5ft 6 so it doesn't matter but would like to be a bit slimmer, have t say that I got a few new clothes for work the other week and am down a dress size!0 -
Good luck to anyone running today
Off out shortly to take part in the Hampstead Midsummer 10k. It seems to be quite bright outside. Hope it stays that way and hopefully doesn't get too warm“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0 -

Hiya minnie what kina dancing you been doing then? Sounds like fun. always think when i watch strictly come dancing oooooooo i could do that!! But the reality i guess may be quite different!! Have a raging sore throat, OH has gone off out to an all day cricket tournament, (joining him later) So i pledge to do as i should
1) update my diary as i got a well deserved wrap on the knuckles last night for leaving it 6 days without posting,
2) then go off out for a run, probably to DP's field where he can join in.
Have a great day everyone and let me know those totals!!
Hugs

Morning everyone,
So have completed week 2 of my programme (now running for 90 seconds at a time!) I am feeling a little demoralised however as my lower legs are still quite painful - in fact this morning i cut my run short and came back to go on the stepper instead. I have no problems motivating myself to actually go out, its a real case of my mind is willing but my body isn't! I really don't want to have to give up, so my question to you all today is do I bite the bullet and go and buy a proper pair of running trainers this week in the hope that this solves my leg pains?
bali x0 -
yes if you can bali but don't knacker your budget. go to a proper bonafide running shop, usually advertised in runners world. they'll do a free gait analysis and may be able to tell you what is causng your shin splints. This myst be so frustrating for you.
Good luck hon.

One on to the total for me :T
That hill on the Hampstead Midsummer 10k
This is the third time I have run this race in recent years and I thought I was ready for it
You come to what you think is the top and then continues to ascend.
Oh and I remembered it being 2 laps. But no it is 3
Felt good though and the weather was good for running. Started with a little refreshing drizzle and then faired up with a nice breeze.
I decided to take the hill at an easier pace - it is too long to attack. Not incredibly steep - just goes on for ever. I used the energy I conserved on the hill to run a strong final kilometre.
I dont have an official time yet, but according to my watch it is looking like about 50 minutes. I have just checked - I got 50 minutes exactly last time I did this event 2 years ago, so it would be nice to better that. I will keep you all informed.
How has everyone else's races / training gone today“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0
