Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful sunshine...makes you want to get out and run doesn't it. ..(ok it may just be me!) So have decided instead of cycling going to do a power 2 mile walk to work this morning. Going to seriously have to walk fast though as I have 25 mins to get there after dropping Bea at school.I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Hi all!
Been stupidly busy for a few days so haven't checked in. Congrats on FLM, Sally!! I got rejected (again :-() this is the third time so soon enought I'll get in I 'm sure.
Anyhow, training is not too bad at the moment although need to pick the distances up again as have settled for 5K every time. To motivate myself for this I have entered a load of runs in the next few months:
23rd November Pembrey 10mile trail running - now I know going from 3 miles to 10 miles and on sand dunes etc in 6 weeks is probably too much but I'm reckoning it'll make me pick my distances up and if I just finish it will give me a buzz and a kick!
6th December 10K costal run
7th December 5K santa run (is doing 2 runs in 2 days wise??)
14th December 10K fun run
My basic theory is if I train to do 10miles in 6 weeks I will fly the 10Ks... sure it's flawed but hey ho!

The Santa run sounds fun Poodlecrazy - what's that?
Life ganged up on me a bit last night so I didn't run - probably a wise decision in hindsight as I feel a bit hormonally-challenged.
I'm going to try and run tonight, but I'm only aiming for 2.5k, with a 2.5k walk afterwards - if I feel up to it I'll run the full 5k though.
Anyway, off to wallow in pmt hell, cuddled up to Natasha on the sofa."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
endorpins are supposed to be good for PMT hun......
Thanks for the comments on the runclub guys, i think if i stick with it, at least it gets me out once a week for a challenging run, and hopefully i can stick at my weekend run too, and given that i am pretty poor, i should be able to see some improvements by the next block... this was only my 4th week so i shouldn't beat myself up about it.
Sammy - sod having to do press ups while waiting for the slow ones!!! that's barbaric!!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
That's a good point Maz - maybe I will feel a bit less fed up after I've run tonight. Thinking of getting Stu and the kids to come with me (to have a bit of a walk round the reservoir, not to actually run with me), that way I might feel like I have a bit more of an incentive to keep going.
I would stick with the running club if you feel you can - I suppose it might take a while for the trainer to get to know you and work out what motivates you?"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Aww Snaggles :grouphug: Running definitely helps with the hormonal thing, I've been feeling like cr*p the last couple of days but much better after last night's run.
Sore calves this morning.. ouch!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
i wonder if i'm not working hard enough, i haven't had sore legs for weeks... even after my nearly 4 miles on saturday i felt fine... maybe it's the swimming? is it taking the aches away....
the only place i have minor muscular aches are on my arms from swimming... bingo wings are diminshing! yay!
I miss having sore legs... must try harder...
(edit: don't get me wrong, my legs are sore when i'm running, a bit, but not afterwards anymore....)I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Hiya!
Snaggles, the reindeer / santa run is in a local country park (complete with real life reindeer) and is either over 5K or 10K wearing antlers. It's a good laugh but quite muddy and off road which is why I am doing th 5K not the 10K. It's also 2 laps which I just find depressing :-)
Everyone is doing so well on their training. Maz I wouldn't worry about sore legs although I always find that my legs hurt more after a different session i.e. intervals or hills which may be a way to get the ache back if you really want it!!0 -
Some of you might think I am crazy :j
I have entered the wymondham 10k on the 1st jan 2009
I think I should be up to that distance by then, and if you think of it,I will not be drinking new years eve.
So I should be saving money too :beer:Owing on CC £00.00 :j
It's like shooting nerds in a barrel0 -
Hi Yox,
I dont think you're crazy - but then I'm catching a flight to NY at 8am on New Years Day so I have to leave my house at 4am!
At least you'll be running - what time does it start??0
