Oh i think i see, you want to start last in an attempt to overtake 15,000 people
. I will give you a wave when you run past then....in our club vests of course!
35,000, not 15,000! Brendan Foster holds the current official world record which he did in the GNR a few years ago at about 22,000.
So it seemed an interesting way to spend a Sunday morning in October!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Can I be really shallow and say that I just want to look slinky in my black dress at the office Xmas party?? :rotfl: So as much exercise as possible, as often as possible please! Lol!!!RichOneday wrote: »If you want to give yourself the best chance of distance on Sunday rest for the 3 days before and you will have fresh muscles. Obviously, if you did that every week you'd be missing out quite a bit of training, but it can be an effective way to get your distance up above 4 miles initially.

Ah, but less is more! Do less initially to get the long run distance up and you'll find you can do a lot more later.
Plus for that particular aim as much walking as possible is the best recipe, although I can't believe Xmas parties are in the thoughts already.

What are you scared of?
There's 52 weeks to go yet - lots of training.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

I do walk a lot already - I think that's maybe why I'm managing to run further quite quickly? But I find walking really dull (sorry), and never think 'I can't wait to go for a really long walk'. Walking is just a means to an end because I haven't got a car (unless I borrow hubby's).
And as it's less than 12 weeks till Xmas, I think now is the perfect time to start thinking about it!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

Im back
Not good coach...I only did 8.4 miles whoops! It was foul and its official I am now to be known as Poola (sorry tmi) I was so windy I could barely run at some points, the rain was lashing down and dreched every article of clothing I had on. Got the runners tummy but glad I am now back home
And now I am watching the GNR and wishing I had more will power to keep going when it gets tough and wishing I was there in the sun!
Go snaggles Go thats fantastic to get to 4 miles so quicklyI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....
