    MORNING

Sorry was that too loud for those of you with hangovers!!!
Well I am up ready to run (ok im still in my pj's) but mentally ready but its pitch black outside, gale force winds and lashing it down with rain. Im not one to be put off easily but for my own safety Im ponding whether to go out at the moment. I hate winter you know!

Just wondering if Becky is out there battling against the elements in the big smoke this morning

Fartlek - Should not be considered until into a proper training program and certainly not until 4+ mile runs are done as a matter of course. But the benefit of fartlek sessions is that they get muscles used to higher speed running, developing the anaerobic capacity and muscle endurance. They are included when training for specific time targets.

I take it this means i am being given permission NOT to do fartleks until I can run 4 miles 'properly':rotfl:

good luck on the run sallyx

Did you find 'the zone' again?

Yes, 4 miles non-stop. But ohhhhhh my god I could hardly walk to my car at the end!

I was really proud though, because this time last week, I struggled to run a mile and a half, then suddenly on Wednesday I ran 3 miles non-stop, then today 4.

Think I've peaked now though, I can't imagine EVER being able to run further than that!
